v18 [Bug] Audio gap when resuming a paused video Kodi 17 and 18
#31
@andrzejls

Probably not going to get much of a response by resurrecting such an old thread but if you go back and review it you will see there is not much interest in this issue.

This is partially because a small minority are complaining but not providing any links to a Debug Log that may help someone take a look at the alleged problem coupled with unrealistic expectations of our developers. The devs are all volunteers who work on Kodi for free in their spare time on areas that interest them and even on those areas it is rare to get an update or ETA of any kind.

Not saying it won't happen but we rely on users to provide useful feedback and logs to pinpoint issues.

That being said I have been using Kodi for many many years (almost as long as the project has existed) on many different types of hardware and platforms and I have never had (or noticed) the issue you are describing.

@andrzejls follow the instructions below:

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum
Always read the Wiki, FAQ and search the forum before posting.

If you are wanting support here you need to remove all the piracy addons and repos (they are in orange in your log) in your system as per the Forum Rules you agreed to when you signed up to the forum and then repost a link to a clean log.

Fixed that up. 2 week later no word. I guess that the other guy was right, no interest in fixing small problems.

When I start a video from the beginning the audio starts delayed. This is especially annoyin on short Music video clips where the music starts immediately, but Kodi starts playing audio only a second (or more) so into the movie. Is this the same issue?

OK, thanks, at least I can stop fiddling with the settings to try to get rid of this.

I really hope this can be fixed, but I can see that the developers have other priorities...

Kodi developers think that there is no problem or is not important enough for them to fix it. One of them here was telling me that there is no such problem at all. I tested EMBY and PLEX on my NVIDIA Shield Pro 2019 and both are working fine with no audio delay, only Kodi. I hope that up and coming Kodi 20 will have this fixed.

Update.
I just installed Kodi 20 Nexus Beta-1, same issue. Obviously Kodi Team/Developers have no intention of fixing audio delay from "Pause".
