Hello,

just installed the Next up Addon and I also got the error message. The dialog appears where next up advises the next episode, I press 'play' and "ERROR: Exception caught on main loop. Exiting" appears. Clicking 'OK' results in terminating kodi.
I am using Windows Pro 8.1 64-bit, Kodi 16.1, last version of the Titan skin and last Next up version (all addons actualized today).

After the start of kodi I went directly to "TV series" and started smb://DS215J/video/Serien/Blindspot/1. Staffel/S01E16 Gegen die Zeit.avi.
The next episode would have been smb://DS215J/video/Serien/Blindspot/1. Staffel/S01E17 Schnitzeljagd.avi

Any ideas? (one log, three crashlogs and two stacktrace-files are created)

I use The fTV Skin of The ftv Skin Fred Edition and the Nextup Addon, but when the Prompt comes up at the End of an Episode and then i klick the Button, Kodi hangs up.
I can hear, that the next epsiode begins to play, but on the screen i only see the Epsioselist from the Series I´m watching.
A reinstall don't fix The issue.

I've Seen, that there is an Option in the addon.
Must i Create a log from kodi or is there a seperate location.

I FOUND THE ISSUE AFTER ONE YEAR !!!!
I check my Kodi Settings Tonight.
So I made a change in Settings -> Videos -> Folderlists (German Translation) -> Default Action and change it to "Show Information"
And it Works..... !!!!!!
In my opinion its a bug, but whatelse....

I set up Kodi on a second computer, also running with Windows Pro 8.1 64-bit, also with the Titan skin and Next Up is running smoothly without problems.
Default action is 'play', I strongly doubt that this is the source of the problem, would be quite a strange error indeed.

Regarding my error report in #571:

- I deactived the VideoExtras addon, without success, the error persists
- then I deactivated the PVR-addon, here: DVBViewer-Client, also without success

After that I deactivated the menu option Videos --> Playback --> Play next video automatically and now the Next up addon works.
(EDIT: I can reproduce this behaviour on both of my computers and Kodi installations, running with Win 8.1 and Kodi 16.1)

Is this a known issue, that the addon interferes with the 'Play next video automatically'-option? Obviously the option is no longer required, nevertheless it shouldn't end in a program crash ....

Hi, thanks for the report. It's certainly not an issue I have been made aware off and do agree it should not result in a crash. I'll try and reproduce it here and see what can be done to resolve it.

I would like to activate the 'Play next video automatically' option, because I use it for viewing music videos. At the moment this interferes with the Next up addon.

Hello there. Every time I use this addon, it crashes once either I click on it so it plays next episode, or let the time run out then it'll automatically play next episode. However, Kodi will not crash if I turn on the Logging feature and such. But once I turn it off, it will crash Kodi every time it is used. This happens on my PC, and on my MAC on Kodi. Is there a way around it, or anyone else run into this?

I designed the custom xml for the skin Titan - but I do like the direction the author took in the design show in your post.

The files you will need to create and or modify are (example paths used - replace with proper skin name and resolution):

skin.name/1080i/script-nextup-notification-NextUpInfo.xml

skin.name/1080i/script-nextup-notification-StillWatchingInfo.xml

Visit the github repo for this add on to understand what options are provided for skin customization by the script.

A basic or better understanding of skinning in Kodi will be very helpful.

If you do end up creating custom views and wish to share please post your xml files, screenshots and name / version of skin you developed for.

This is what I have so far. I still need to test it on another machine to verify its working right. I'm not a Skinner, but I think this is decent for a first timer. Opinions welcomed.



Edit : I can confirm it is working on 2 different machines. I am having one issue though!! I can't get the episode info to scroll. I have <scroll> set to "true" but it does not budge. Again........ I'm not a Skinner, but I feel like I've done pretty good and if anyone with some experience wants to give out some advice on that scrolling problem, this thing could get finished and released to Helly for implementation into Xonfluence.

When "Include Watched Episodes" is enabled, can there be an option to ignore Specials?

When I watch a new episode of a show that has specials, Nextup will try to play an episode from the Specials folder afterwards. I like having this feature enabled for when I'm rewatching a tv series, but it's really annoying in this use case.
