This is exactly my experience. Is it the dtb?

I think it's the CEoreElec kernel ethernet driver, but if you use the line "ethtool -s eth0 speed 1000 duplex full autoneg off" command in "autostart.sh" it will perform better.
If you don't know how to make that "autostart.sh" file in CE, I can send you URL to download it and place it in Kodi/.config folder. It will run at every boot and configure Ethernet adapter to always connect with 1000 Mbits. This will in most cases resolve inconsistence problems.

I'd much appreciate the download as I'm in-between chemo treatments. Thanks for the help!!

You can download the file, script "autostart.sh", from HERE. Copy it to Kodi/storage/.config folder and then reboot.
Mind you, this works only in CoreElec, since it is not needed for Android.

Thanks, I'm going to try with & w/o that script, and test my secondary AM6B+ in another room, further away from the router & NAS.

Is there no resolvement from the CE team?
I would love to try another device like the Ugoos with DV support, but if the support is lacking I dunno if I want to even try.

Never tried CE or LE, have started with RaspBMC and after that only OSMC.
LG 77G1 • Onkyo TX-RZ70 • Q Acoustics F:2050i C:2000Ci R:2020i A:QI65C • 2x BK Elec XXLS400-DF
Vero V (OSMC) • Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2019) • Sony UBP-X800M2 • Sony PlayStation 5

Since this problem affects only a small group of users (S922x devices connected to a small variety of routers)  there was no need to beyond applying mentioned autostart.sh script.
But I assure you, CoreElec team and community are very keen in supporting devices that can run CoreElec. To put your mind at ease just take a look for more info on their forum.

To get more inside info for comparison run these SSH commands before and after applying this script

"cat /sys/class/net/eth0/speed" and "ethtool eth0 | grep Speed"

If you get same results, you are not affected by mentioned "Ethernet irregularity".

i got the .sh installed and it seems to be working. Id like to test the box speed but i cant get iperf3 working. I got it installed in kodi and tried

I got my G1 a 10 days ago. I turned it on and saw the Sign into Google bit and turned it straight off. No chance of it ever upgrading.
I am only using it for CoreElec so I put in the SD card and toothpick started it into CE.
Working perfectly. Gigabit Ethernet with CE NG.
Happy with the purchase.

thanks for the update, this box is still a good potential, even coreelec team member said
vpeter: "at this time when it is unclear how it will work in the future."

meaning that if KinHank want to work and get this box working with CoreElec then it will succeed. After my deal on the deal site. I expect many have bought and would either praise or hate, and if it's a praise that site keeps an eye out on future sales for that box meaning it's good for consumers and good for KinHank and they will invest more resources on the box.
damn you got lucky with Gigabit Ethernet nice!

With both my AM6B+ units, purchased from separate AliExpress sellers about 45 days apart, both before & after applying the "ethtool -s eth0 speed 1000 duplex full autoneg off" command in "autostart.sh", I get...
Code:
CoreELEC:~ # cat /sys/class/net/eth0/speed
1000
CoreELEC:~ # ethtool eth0 | grep Speed
Speed: 1000Mb/s

And, with my second AM6B+, which is further away from my NAS & router, I'm getting gigabit. Strange that some units would have subpar ethernet hardware.

As I already mentioned, it is not the hardware, but some combination involving CE ethernet driver and some routers. All my mentioned S922x devices work OK on several different routers, but not on the one from my internet provider, which I unfortunately have to use...
Just to mention again, all my S922x devices work with full ethernet speed (without any problem!) in Android, when connected to my "problematic" ISP's router, so any "subpar" hardware is definitely out of the question.

Ah, my bad, got it, thanks.

Does the Ugoos SK1 support streaming apps like Netflix and Amazon?

I’m wanting to get a box for my theater room that will allow me to set up my NAS hard drive to be accessed accross my network. And support streaming apps. I’m not sure if anyone knows if these streaming boxes perform better than an Xbox Series X or not. But I do know it all of the streaming apps are supported on the Xbox.

My options so far.

Dune HD Premier 4k Pro
Ugoos SK1 (not sure if this supports streaming apps)
Zidoo Z9X 8k (only if Xbox is as good as the streaming boxes)

Are there any all in one boxes with the newest SoC? If the Xbox is sufficient enough I’m not against getting a dedication NAS streaming box right now if it’s that much better than the all in one boxes. And then getting an app streaming box later down the road.

Thanks for the advice.
