i'm missing the option "Show codec info" under "Global" "Other".

Someone has an idea where the option is?

thanks
Not sure what exactly you want to display but without Keymap Editor try to change your remote file (with meson-ir the file .toml)
change to =    "KEY_CONTEXT_MENU" for process info and =    "KEY_INFO" for movie info when playing
Config, video/audio player:
3T HDD <USB> Odroid N2+ / CoreElec <HDMI> Denon AVR-2313 <HDMI> LG TV 55UF860V
                                          <nfs wired> Linksys WRT32X router <USB> 4T HDD

(Incidentally, I do not use live tv or PVR and have no PVR add-ons enabled.)

Any ideas on how to avoid this conflict in key assignments?  For example is there a PVR action apparently now assigned to the "yellow" key which I could assign to a different key or would that just result in the PVR action being assigned to two keys?

Thanks for any help,

Ken
Same as previous answer, without Keymap Editor.
The issue you have is because you press the key out of the level it is assigned and the system fall in Global.
Try to well understand the process flow in the wiki.

i want to show information about audio and videocodec during movie playback. on pc it's "e" oder "o" i think.

as i said: a few month ago the option "Show codec info" was under "Global" "Other". now it isn't.

If it's this one:

https://kodi.wiki/view/Player_process_in...ocess_Info

then it's 'o' on the keyboard.  As of Kodi Matrix it's called Player Process Info and still under Other.

I ended up assigning “context menu” to the “blue” key instead and it works fine.

Hi, thanks for this great Add-ON. I am trying to map virtual keyboard presses of ALT + F4 onto a MCE remote button ('record' being my preference), and I am trying different ways of doing so. However, whenever I press ALT + F4 to 'teach' Keymap Editor this behaviour Kodi (and Keyboard Editor) are of course closed. Is there a way around this paradox?

I'm making an assumption that you're on a Windows machine, and I think ALT + F4 closes a window.  That's an OS level function, so it likely gets handled before Kodi can do anything with it.  So you'd have to figure out how to turn off (or remap) ALT - F4 at the OS level.

You could always fall back on editing the keymap file directly. See this for how to find/edit the keymap file:

https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_keymaps

See this for all the keynames and actions that you can use in your keymap file:

Great work on bringing this add on to Matrix!, really appreciate it.

I have a little query and it's kept me on for hours to figure it out... tried lots of different ways using the keymap guides on forums without success.
I use matrix on a windows 10 build. What I'm trying to do is edit one of my remote control buttons to simulate an OS level command - Ctrl+Shift+B

In the keymap xml file its currently assigned to the below example and works fine. I wonder if its possible to replace the function of the key to simulate the above windows command, and if anyone could help with an example code, it would be a greatly appreciated.

<key id="254">runaddon(plugin.video.youtube)</key>

Alternatively, if not possible, is there a way to have the key function execute an OS system shortcut or batch file perhaps?

Cheers.

Keymap Editor just allows you to remap keys in Kodi.  Kodi has no built-in way of generating a command for the OS.

I'm using the Coreelec nightly Matrix version, it gives an error.

The keymap xml file seems to be malformed (at least according to the log entry).  You might try moving the gen.xml file from the userdata/keymaps folder and try again.  This will reset any keymaps you've already created.
