Anyone managed to get XBMC on a minimal install of Maverick on the Revo shutting down and restarting via XBMC?
It seems Ubuntu in their infinite wisdom have removed polkit-auth and not replaced it with any similiar tool, so there is no obvious way to give xbmc the ability to shutdown the machine.
Seems a common thread in ubuntu, make very odd and often stupid decisions.....

hmm, that doesn't sound right....can you use SSH to log in to the box (you can do this from a ubuntu pc using "ssh -l loginyoucreated for XBMCBox IPADDRESSOFXBMCBox" or using Putty on windows.
Then run the remaining commands from that login.

I just gave xbmc live a shot. downloaded the latest official release.
I get an XBMC screen for about 2 minutes, then I get a prompt asking for password? ??
