Be sure you read post #79 above to be sure you have script.favorites add-on installed. It's needed if you wish to add Custom favorites to your main menu.

How do you install the script.favourites manually via zip? I tried Install add ons via zip and clicked on the file but nothing happens.
Also my documentary folder in the home screen menu scrolls and is shown twice like this
DOCUMENTARY | DOCUMENTARY

And when I go to the documentary link there is only 4 docos in there and they are from my movies folder. How do I get this to link to my actual documentary folder?
I'm assuming the 4 files in there must have documentary in the XML files.
Can I just some how place a XML file in all my docos sub folders to fix this?

Thanks for the help.

Be sure the zip file you downloaded is the Eden Frodo version of script.favourites, since that's the XBMC version you are running. Go to System/Settings > Add-ons > Install from zip file. Navigate to the location where you'd downloaded the zip and select it. Click the OK button and let it complete (should be very fast). Look in your XBMC addons folder and you should see a folder named script.favourites (along with folders for other add-ons). Open that folder and you should see a resources folder along with three txt files, default.py and addon.xml.

I assume you meant download the Frodo zip file, not Eden as Im running Frodo which you comfirmed for me in post 94.

I downloaded the link from post 79 and did exactly as you said but I was expecting to see it listed under enabled add ons and it isnt. It didnt even show me a message that it had ben installed. But I will check the add ons folder in filezilla and see if there is a script.favourites folder in there.
Assuming there is then what else do I need to do or is that it?

Ah, you're right. Frodo it is. I had you confused with someone else I was helping who thought he was running Frodo, but was actually on Eden.

No, you won't see it listed under Enabled Add-ons and it installs in the blink of an eye, so you won't see any progress indicator.

Depends on what you want to do. If you've already installed the Confluence-MOD Vol. 2 skin, then you now have support for adding custom favourites in that skin.

Cheers thanks fo that.

Any advice on this

For some reason the documentarys link does not point to the documentarys folder but filters and displays files with documentary in the genre of the xml file. I used a home.xml file provided to me on xbmc4xbox forum to set this up on my xbox and it worked fine on the xbox.

The home.xml file had this added to it, (along with another line to add documentary in the home screen.)

<onclick>ActivateWindow(VideoFiles,Documentary,return)</onclick>

But when I used the same file on RPI the documentary link took me to a blank file view window.

Is there a way you can change the documentary link on the home screen to link to and open my documentary folder on my smb share instead of opening any files in m movie folder that have <genre>documentary</genre>

Ive noticed that if I try to add a custom link in skin settings and click on path I am only able to see files on the local folders and not browse to my PC. Is there a way to fix this?

Define "local files" vs. "browse to my PC".

Ok ignore that previous post I worked out what I was doing in the end. But..I set my custom playlist path to my doku.xsp file.
I changed my doku.xsp file to this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<smartplaylist type="movies">
<name>Documentary</name>
<match>one</match>
<rule field="path" operator="startswith">smb://TROY-PC/Documentary</rule>
</smartplaylist>

When I click on Documentarys it takes me to a blank file folder with the 3 dots. If I select the 3 dots I go to another folder that shows this

...
Documentarys (Which links to another blank folder)

dokumentatieon (which links to 3 files that all have genre set to documentarys)

Hd Movies (links to my Hd movies.)

How do I get rid of that folder called dokumentatieon and why doesnt it link me direct to the documentarys folder on my smb share?
