If you have many ROMs in your setup, definitely give AEL a try! Kodi users can keep their dignity against Hyperspin and Retropie/Emulation Station people!

My goal is to try and make this all work in retropie/odroid (game station turbo)

I just did a quick test with AEL on windows 7x64 and no intro NES. This plugin is LIGHTNING fast! Like instant meta scrape with local artwork from emumovies. Amazing. I am going to test some more sets and report back.

It also proxied over all of my settings and backgrounds from AL so it seems they are totally compatible. although after just this initial test I will be using AEL only from now on.

Keep in mind that AEL is in development, and likely the format of the ROM storage will change a bit before 1.0.0 release. If so, you will need to rescan your ROMs. Play with it, test it, but do not do "serious" stuff yet, like spending time configuring metadata/images manually.

Thats a Kodi core feature. AEL just generates the list of items, but navigation belongs to Kodi C++ core. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do. As a workaround, you can use the "Browse by Title" virtual launcher.

In advanced WIDE view, trailers when placed in the window. DO NOT PLAY. When the view is changed to Advanced Poster, or Square. They DO PLAY.

Have only done a little testing. So not sure what other views the trailers do not play in.

The offline scraper ignores the ROM name you see on the list, always uses file name. In that case billy999 GameDBInfo may be wrong. If using online scraper then yes, search engine should be improved a bit... Currently the priority is finishing the basic AEL functionality, scrapers will need more work after 1.0.0 release. If want to discuss this further please open a bug report in Github.
