Release CetonTV+HDHomeRun - Watch TV on XBMC (WIN/OSX)
This program is great.

But i have an issue.

When I try to go to the web page (localhost:8555) I get an error: "Could not find command"

If i go to a different pc inside my lan, the web page works fine and I can watch tv.

Any idea what I'm missing? Odd that it works on a different pc, but not the one wit hthe ceton, xbmx, and this plugin.

Thanks for any help.

localhost:8555 points to a index.html in the root directory that doesn't exist

it needs to be either localhost:8555/m/index.html or localhost:8555/m/iphone.html

wow gman!!!

thanks so much for your quick response.

I've been fighting this all night trying to figure out what I had wrong.

I had been using the /m/index.html, but at some point in troubleshooting, it got dropped off of the address in the history bar.

I kept getting the login prompt, so I ASSUMED i was on the right page - never checking until your post.

Thanks VERY much.

cs13,

Just a guess, but try opening the CetonTV/remoteceton/settings.conf file.

Make sure the line that points to the VLC executable is correct for your installation of VLC.

VLC_PROCESS=C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe"

Originally, my file did not have the x86 in it, but my VLC installed into that dir.

Is there a way to connect to the Remote Ceton through Iphone or Android Phone?

I have this working both inside and outside my lan except on one laptop.

when running outside my lan, i get an error in remoteCeton's screen:

Channel did not change...

I have not been able to try this laptop inside my lan yet.

Is there a port being blocked on this laptop or what else would give this error?

PVR.Ceton should let me use Live TV functionality in XBMC, is that right? I got the python script to work, and it looks great, but I'd like to use Live TV integration instead, and for some reason, remoteCeton has 0 lines related to a client connecting, requesting EPG data etc. Since the python script works, I assume it's not a network issue, especially since I'm using the same machine for everything. I even disabled the firewall to make sure port blocking wasn't the issue. Still nothing Undecided Any suggestions?

I am troubleshooting my problems by using the web interface, since the addon doesn't render because the stream never plays.

First I go to http://localhost:8555/m/index.html then choose channel 512 (NBC HD).

Code:
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: Server: Client requested stream url for Tuner[1]
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: Tuner[1]: Changing channel number to 512

e" FFFFFFFF set /tuner0/channel auto:507000000
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: "C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config.ex
e" FFFFFFFF set /tuner0/program 1512
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: Tuner[1]: Program number is 1512
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: Tuner[1]: Channel name is WWBT DT
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: Tuner[1]: hdhomerun://192.168.1.9/0
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: Tuner[1]: Starting video stream
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: VLC[1]: Starting VLC instance with remoteVLC plugin
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: VLC[1]: Transcode settings [type=flv,vb=500,res=480]
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: VLC[1]: Streaming to http://localhost:8556
[9.3.2012.11:27:55]: Scheduler: Sleeping 90 seconds until next task

The console window (see above) shows that the stream is started but in the browser the JWPlayer is black and says: "Video not found or access denied"

If I navigate directly to http://localhost:8556 I get an http 404 error (not found). Adding the video.flv to that url gives me a flash video player that doesnt do anything when I hit the play button.

It seems like there is a problem with VLC loading the stream despite there not being any errors presented in the console. Is there a better way to troubleshoot the stream through VLC? I have tried every combination I can think of through the web interface.

FYI: All firewalls are turned off for these tests. It is configured to look at my HDHomerun Prime and tuning the correct channel works fine (I am able to view the stream directly with XBMC and the HDHR tuner 0 as a source).

EDIT:
After a couple minutes the following appears in the console window:

Code:
[9.3.2012.11:29:25]: Scheduler: Checking for tasks to run
[9.3.2012.11:29:25]: Scheduler: No clients streaming on Tuner[1]
[9.3.2012.11:29:25]: Scheduler: Tuner is inactive. Shutting down stream
[9.3.2012.11:29:25]: VLC[1]: Closing VLC instance
[9.3.2012.11:29:25]: Tuner[1]: Stopping video stream
[9.3.2012.11:29:25]: Scheduler: Sleeping 59435 seconds until next task

Trid with this: http://localhost:8555/play?tuner=1&chann...eWidth=400

First response was missing a parm

So then I tried with this: http://localhost:8555/play?tuner=1&chann...lution=300

Not sure if 300 is a realistic value or not, but it gave a positive json response:

Code:
{"channel":"512","msg":"Playing channel: 512","status":"success"}

The following is what appeared in the console window:

Code:

is there anything playing on the local machine in vlc?

VLC did not open when I opened that url in the browser (Chrome). Should it have opened VLC with a GUI?

I just loaded the url again and saw that VLC.exe appears in my task manager as a running process (vlc.exe *32). But there is no GUI for it.

EDIT:
After a couple minutes I see the following inthe concole window and the vlc.exe process ends:

Code:
[9.3.2012.21:53:00]: Scheduler: Checking for tasks to run
[9.3.2012.21:53:00]: Scheduler: No clients streaming on Tuner[1]

try adding

"&redirect=true"

at the end of the url.

If you are transcoding, I believe you need to get the transcoded stream to be redirected onto the main port.

Same experience as above. Does VLC actually open up for you into a GUI playing the video stream when loading that URL?
