I just upgraded xbmc to wsnipex xbmc-xvba latest release (2:12.0~git20121104.1440-576eef2-0quantal). For my TV Shows my cover art is a little hokey. If I enter TV shows the posters show up fine no matter what view I choose. Once I select a show, I am in the view low list. The image on the left shows just the generic no TV icon. The one on the right shows the season thumb. If I select *All Seasons it shows the Series thumb, which is the one that should be showing up on the left. Any advice?

Container.TvshowThumb and Container.SeasonThumb appear to be broken in the nightlies. I'm asking about it now.

just out of curiosity, why was the video-addon option removed from the video list? (when you move to the right on videos)

Basically, I didn't want to have shortcuts to Addons all over the place. So now they only show in the various submenus if you have hidden the Addons link on the main menu (in Settings->Metropolis->Hide Items).

Does 2.0 support the UPnP shared library for covers, fanart etcHuh?

I recently revisited Metropolis after approximately 6 months to see how it's progressed and just finished installing version 1.1.0. The bug where the home screen stutters and doesn't show the "pop out" animation still exists when using Icon Home Layout and hiding some of the home items. It's fine when not hiding any of the main menu options. Did this bug make it into 2.0?

I assume it would. This is entirely a function of XBMC itself, is it not? I wasn't aware of anything special skinners had to do.

By "recently revisited," do you mean you tried one of the recent betas, or that you just looked at 1.1.0 again?

I was fairly certain I corrected the stuttering a few months back, and I just checked and it seems fine. You wouldn't have seen this change in 1.1.0 though (pretty sure it didn't make it in there anyway).

As for the "pop out" I'm really not sure what you mean? The zoom on the focused item? I don't recall ever seeing that not work.

The announcement in the blog said... "Confluence and all current skins are designed to expect only a local database or a MySQL database masquerading as a local database, which means one would theoretically need to re-scrape the UPnP server into your local library for the TV shows link to show up in the home screen, which immediately cuts out much of the benefit of a dedicated UPnP server."

So, decided to ask before I tried it and went down a blind alley...

I DID HOWEVER FIND AN ANOMALY.

This is in the last version pulled from GIT last night.. when you do an update library from the Video tab on the main menu, no matter the setting about library updates being silent.. it doesn't give any indication that it's scanning. It IS scanning but you don't know....

You are running a recent nightly build of XBMC, correct? If you're using Eden, you're going to see quite a lot more than just this break. FYI.

I'm using erhnam and wsnipex's FRODO iso v7 referenced here - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=134252 on a clean install.
Haven't updated it any further.
I did a rollback of Metropolis GIT to 1.96.1351819596 and it works as expected (showing progress as it updates)

2.0.0.13523388158 has the problem.

Switched to Confluence and it showing update progress as it scans.

I haven't seen one pop up in the Passion repo yet.

If you want to pull Metropolis from the master branch on github, you'll need to realize that you will often need a very recent build of XBMC. As in, potentially up to last night's, or even 10 minutes ago. I am actively developing for Frodo and you have to understand that it is unstable.

If you want something that will remain stable, you will need to either wait for official releases (2.0.0 should hit shortly) or pull from the eden branch on github. If you pull from master or use the passion builds, things will break from time to time.

In your particular case I suspect your build is prior to the removal of DialogVideoScan and DialogMusicScan in favor of DialogExtendedProgressBar.

All that said.. I don't recommend using the Passion builds or the master branch from github for production installations right now. A lot is changing rapidly in the skin. Just wait for 2.0.0 to hit the official repo or pull from the eden branch.
