Do Android devices like the Minix NEO X5 can read videos (with 720P resolutio) from hard disk connected threw wifi (samba protocole) thanks to XBMC ?

I've tried many different things with the minix but I can't get smooth playback over SMB on anything above SD.

thanks, so threw which protocol did you manage, i you could, watching 720P movies

I've found the only way to play anything 720p and over is via USB or outside of XBMC in native android app.

Have mounted SMB shares woth CIFS incidentally and although this played with HW enabled with MXPlayer it still lagged and stuttered with 1080p. 720p was much better but there was still dropped a smaller degree of stutter.
This despite the Minix being on a dedicated gigabit port (every room in my house is running off my gigabit switch) that no other device struggles with 1080p.
Seems the Minix is best suited to USB for the time being. Network shares and streaming are not it's best points to say the least.
