is there a way to change the order of the homescreen menus? right now it's like system, movies, weather, music, tv shows, etc...
i'd like to be able to customize that if possible.
thanks

Thanks for this brilliant mod. I'm new to the XBMC family and am loving it. I have been a long time user of other media players and have finally given up on their UIs in favour of XBMC.

Quick query though... I have 3 HDDs with content; 2 x Movies and 1 x TV Shows. And I have been managing all my content manually - no scrapers (I just use cover art anyways). I have been maintaining a standard (logical) directory structure, hence do not like to use the 'Library' feature that XBMC offers. My directory structure is something like this...

Code:
Movies HD|1
    ↪ Aladdin (1992)
        ↳ Aladdin (1992).mkv
    ↪ The Bourne Trilogy (2002-2007)
        ↳ 01 The Bourne Identity (2002).mkv
        ↳ 02 The Bourne Supremacy (2004).mkv
        ↳ 03 The Bourne Ultimatum (2007).mkv
        ↳ 04 Extras
            ↳ 01 Extra 1.mkv
            ↳ 02 Extra 2.mkv
            ↳ ...and so on.
    ↪ The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
        ↳ The Shawshank Redemption (1994).mkv
    ↪ ...and so on.

As you can see, I have all my films in their own folder. Nothing is without a folder. I manage my movie 'sets' manually too. I've already done the work, and wish to continue this way. I added 'Movies HD|1' as my source and I am liking what I see. (Of course, every folder has a 'folder.jpg' and a moviename-poster.jpg' too. I've just not listed it above.)

Now, I believe I cannot see the 'Movies' and 'TV Shows' menus on my home screen unless I enable the Library more by scraping info for all my files? I wish to bypass that. I wish to see my Movie sources under 'Movies' and TV Show sources under 'TV Shows' WITHOUT using the Library.

Technically, all I wish is to do duplicate the 'Videos' item in my home menu twice more. Label one 'Movies' and the other 'TV Shows' and just add my (respective drive) sources under them. So when I click on Movies, only the sources I've added there show up (viz: Movies HD|1 and Movies HD|2). And when I click on TV Shows only the source added under that show up (viz: TV Shows HD|1). The original 'Videos' menu I can use for my other sources like Home Movies or just hide it completely unless needed.

Would appreciate any help in achieving this.

You need to edit Home.xml and change the position of items inside Control9000

Just set these two as favourites and add them to home via skinsettings

Thanks for replying Max. I understand your answer. In fact, I've gotten the YouTube (Add On) showing up in my home menu precisely the same way. But my question is slightly different.

My Movies and TV Shows aren't just folders, they are drives. And I have multiple of them. Hence, I wish to have multiple sources under a category called Movies and the same for TV Shows.

Unless I can add a source inside a source, doubt I can achieve what I'm hoping using the 'favourites'. Right?

Sad
First of all, this is absolutely the best skin i've tried but...
I cannot use it... (hopefully) yet! Smile

Symptoms:
I install the repository and upgrade to latest 1.1.3
I download and install the skin and then activate it as default
Everything is configurable and everything works perfectly except...
if i turn off xbmc and then turn it on again i get a blank screen. No menus no anything.
Only way out is to delete the folder containing the skin and start xbmc again to get standard confluence skin back.
Well i googled around but i can't find a solution:
someone states that it has something to do with the screen resolution (tried tons of resolution changes in windows and in xbmc - did not work) others talk about a workaround made by setting a sort of startup delay command. Confused

I'm really frustrated because i tried tons of awful skins and they were all working!

Any suggestion? Huh

XBMC is installed on windows 8 (1366x720)
ASUS EeeBox PC EB1503 (little bit tweaked to get w8 fully working)
Monitor is a Philips 50" hd ready plasma monitor (native 720p)

thanx

I tried, liked almost everything.

My children are used to confluence (frodo) with mouse clicks. Anywhere on home menu, the click is correctly performed (not depending on selected/highlighted item)

On this Confluence-Mod, the mouse is not acting the same.
The item has to be already selected/highlighted (say "Movie"), to take the click on it.

As an example, I take this previous screenshot (already in this thread)
Image

Then a mouse click can only be done on "Dessin Animés"
But not on "TNT", "Videos" (which differs from Frodo Confluence)

To be able to click on "TNT", it has first to be selected/highlighted.

I hope this makes sense, maybe this can be corrected.

Good afternoon,
I have Brantje Edition.
At the top of the screen there are always some writings in three different colors (red, green and blue) like "home.xml" or "programs.xml".
They are very annoying.
How do I delete them?

Thanks.

I have the same problem as you in two different operating systems (Xp and Android).
The only way to wake up xbmc home is pressing randomly space bar,esc and mouse buttons.
It seems empirical but works.......

Well... empirical... thanks for the hint... i'll give it a try... but i'd rather prefer a clean tecnical solution Tongue maybe writing two lines in some xml file
I'm controlling xbmc through remote MCE... don't like the idea of tapping randomly around on my keyboard or mouse Rolleyes

edit: It works! just press ESC, the same in MCE remote. Still would like to avoid it

For those who start with a black window:
All of you guys have enabled IntroMovie addon without having it installed!
Disable the addon in skin settings...
