If i click that, and select my "Movies" source, i get a list of 28 "folders".. but they aren't the actual folder names.. it looks like it's picked a movie from within each of those folders and named the folder tht.. when i click on one.. it just says "no item found"

Hi, with the lastest version, 1.2.4, I've added a system app option (you can find it in the device settings under the xbmcRemote voice) named "Show all files in filemode". If you enable it, can you check if your issue is solved? (remember to restart the app when changing this option)

yeah, version 1.2.4 has been published this time without issues (known).
@Ghostdivision, out of curiosity: have you set the port 8777 inside the app as well? A part that, I can't figure out what is missing. An xbmc.log that shows when the app starts and try to connect to XBMC could be helpful.

Hello, yup 8777 is the port set in the app as well, everything works except the keyboard.

Will try to get you a log, to be honest though i am really thinking its the phone, im going to upgrade any week now, its constantly having issues, but will try to get a log when it connects soon.

Would it be possible to get an instant replay (5 second rewind) implemented in the app like its android counterpart?

I would really appreciate this because rewinding 30 seconds when you miss a quick dialogue is too much

I'm struggling to get the remote working with my RPi. It discovers the device but never connects. I am using the same settings which work perfectly with XBMC on my laptop. The RPi is on the network and happily accessing my music library so I'm not sure what the problem could be, any ideas?

I'm having issues lately conrolling my music through file mode. I run openelec 2.99.4 on an asrock 330.

If I longpress on a folder and press play nothing happens.
If I then enter the folder, select one song, press play then that song will loop forever. Changed the XBMC options a few times now to repeat all again but in essence I am now only able to play one song and not an entire album. Clueless why this happens.

@Ruffians123, yes is possible. Look at this thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=70815
So when you will modify the length of the small skip back on XBMC, the remote app will follow this rule.

@digicammad, strange. Can you try if from the device safari you can connect to the XBMC web interface? http://<username>:<password>@<xbmc_ip>:<xbmc_port> and check if it works from the browser?

Hi Joe. I've resolved it thanks. I moved the RPi onto a wireless connection and the ip changed. I forgot it wasn't auto discover, sorry.

One more thing: is there any chance to have the ability to ignore the 'articles' (eg 'a', 'an', 'the', etc) when listing shows and movies?

Most items are now grouped under 't' and 'a' .... (The Matrix, etc)

Regarding the "O" key to see the codec info, you can long press the "i" button on the remote control view (button pad) to show the codec information dialog.

Unfortunately, currently the keyboard works as xbmc virtual keyboard, not as a full keyboard.

Thanks for the quick response. Just doublechecked but the folder I play has no subfolders, pressing folder (file mode) and play doesnt work. Also playing one file will just loop it indefinitely, it will not skip to the next track.

My openelec just updated today to 2.99.5 that didnt fix it either.In xbmc I did notice a popup stating "item failed to play - check log" - debug logging was not on so will see what I can find there.
