Android Library in Pivos XIOS
#1
Was gonna ask on the pivosforums, but couldn't figure decipher their damned bot protection soon enough and it locked me out from registering for now. Smile

Anyway... large movie collection housed on an unRaid server in .iso format for all movies. Each movie in an individual folder, movie and folder with identical names. Shared via SMB.

XIOS M1 running linux XBMC. When I received this for Christmas, I put the 12/19 linux build on it. Used default XBMC scrapers, it picked up my library fine. Recently (perhaps two weeks ago?) upgraded to the latest "semi-official" linux build (not a nightly).

I noticed recently that new movies I added to my server weren't showing up in my library. Checked the source settings for the "movie" unRaid share, and there was no media type set. My choices were "none" or "music". ?? So I went to the add-ons, and grabbed themoviedb scraper. It cleaned the library, scanned for new media, looked like it was adding stuff... but then the library was empty. ?? Grabbed the universal scraper. Same thing. Grabbed the "my movies" scraper. Same thing.

What obvious thing am I missing? Is there something lingering in my userdata directory that is stuffing things up? Anyone know if this is a bug in the last linux build? I've considered moving all my userdata to an sd card since my library is big and growing fast... would that help or just confuse the picture?

And while I'm posting... a few other bugs I'm having with the XIOS in case someone actually reads this far and can help. Wink

Subtitles are on by default for some movies, and I can't figure out how to turn the damned things off. Often, when I try to access the DVD menu for those movies, XBMC just freezes and stays that way indefinitely. Suggestions?

Some of my movies just won't play. It starts trying to play the iso, but nothing happens and I just return (or stay on) whatever menu screen I'm on (files or library). Is this something that's just going to take time? Or is this a known issue that perhaps is resolved in a certain build I could try?

DVD menu navigation is dicey. Sometimes trying it freezes XBMC. Often, the highlight or bracket or whatever doesn't align with the text/image on screen. That's an improvement from the 12/19 build, when the highlight/bracket just wasn't there. Work in progress?

shameless bump... just once, then I'll let it die for now. Smile I tried in the newbie thread at pivosforums... maybe I should start a new topic there, just afraid some questions may have been asked/answered but my searches didn't turn them up.

Sounds like you got to file view from the music menu instead of the videos menu. When you "set content" for TV shows or movies, it should only show TV shows, movies, or Music videos as options for scrapers.

IIRC, ISO support is still touchy on ARM devices. For subtitles see subtitles (wiki), which will tell you how to turn them off.

Finally figured out the subtitles thing..whew! Almost a relief to know ISO support is a general work in progress (davilla hinted that it was months ago as well) and not just a problem I'm having... will probably work itself out eventually.

As for the library, I'm still stuck. Definitely am looking at files via videos, not music. A glitch in this build maybe? When I add scrapers (themoviedb, universal scraper), it starts scraping but then says "can't connect to server." Seems to do this on all options now. Several days ago on option worked its way through the library, but nothing actually got added.

Thinking about maybe using a media manager to do scraping as the collection is a bit unwieldy editing from within xbmc. Except that I want to be pretty sure before I start... don't want a few files in each if a few thousand folders that I have to figure out a bath edit or delete for.

Can you get us a debug log (wiki) of when you attempt to scan files in?

Haven't tried debug in Linux/pivos yet but I'll give it a shot.
