HDHomeRun has two methods of playing back in XBMC. One is to use a script that generates streaming files (one for each channel) that XBMC can playback that would not require anything other than the HDHomeRun and the XBMC device (see HDHomeRun (wiki)). The other is to use a PVR backend to act as a server between the HDHomeRun and XBMC (see PVR (wiki) for a list of servers for each OS that can do this).

nice. thats what i was looking for thanks!

as for question 1 i loaded xbmc on the nexus 7 to test it out and i can't seem to get the remote from my gnex working. tried yatse first. seems android xmbc does not have zeroconf and i did input the ip the nex7 along with the port i set and it will not recognize it. thoughts?

also from the reading i've done it seems i need another play that has hardware decode for xbmc to do 720p and above. i already own vplayer but everything seems to poing to mx :/ is there any info or guides around specifically for that? thanks.
