I ran the thumb cleaner with backdrops enabled and did not have any problems.

I wonder where yours were stored? And were you running on an ATV2? I had mine in /Media/XBMC-Thumbnails/weather-backgrounds/ (etc).

First of all let me say that I find it an amazing skin, thanks
But i found a bug with de addons under the main menu buttons.
When my mouse is on the left addon de 2nd addon is selected
I have try it one two computer and they have exactly the same issue

I'll try to get this fixed for the next version. As i've lowered the main menu i noticed that the main menu mouse navigation is broken too right now. I think it's the hitrect control attribute that's wrong but right now i don't quite understand how that works.

Hi everybody, I need your help.
Im using Confluence Modified, and thereare 3 custom main menu buttons, but i want to add few more. What should i do, i was trying to modify some .xml files, but i have no clue what im doing

If someone can show me what file need to be modified, that would be awesome i just cant figure myself.

Each custom button can have 5(?) submenu buttons, isn't it enough?

Custom favourite button can have 5 custom submenus ? Where is that ? I dont see that option.

Anyhow, i dont really like using submenus, its too complicated for kids.

You need to edit home.xml and skinsettings.xml. Or if you are fine with hardcoding the playlists into the main menu then home.xml is enough. Rest you have to figure out yourself, there are guides here on the forum how to modify Confluence.

Can u point me on some link? I'm doing construction, i have no clue how to do that. I only have that Notepad++ i i know how to open home.xml , but im willing to try, i saw some tutorials on youtube , where guy make backup so i did the same, so i can try to modify files.. I dont even know what hardcoding is.

If u have time, i would appreciate that.

Got myself out of the thumbnail/background problem hole by restoring userdata and got the power button at the bottom, thanks. That leaves this question for now:

Question/Suggestion: Is it possible to change the timing of switching images when using multiple backgrounds? It seems it switches every 10 or 15 seconds. More like every 2-3 minutes (or when switching out and back into a section) seems more appropriate to me.

I've set them the way i like. You can of course mod it the way you like, open IncludesBackgroundBuilding.xml and do a search and replace for <timeperimage>7000</timeperimage> and maybe <fadetime>600</fadetime>.

This option will not be smiled at. Those guys were trying to save bandwidth, which doesn't work if skins automatically download stuff after every library update.

I did think long and hard whether do add it or not. It only updates art for movies (no reason to update tvshows every time) since shows are rarely added to the library.

If Martijn is reading this maybe you can comment on this? How much bandwith is wasted by doing this check? Since the artwork is only downloaded once, is this an issue?

Trouble is that it's a bit of a clunky addon, and will often re-download everything whether you want it to or not - efficient it most certainly is not. I tried it on a test machine (R-Pi) but won't be reinstalling it in future due to its design, limitations and general inefficiencies. Suspect you've just made a rod for your own back including that option!

and that's entirely false
Don't know when last looked at that but re-downloading has never ever been the case.
It will not re-download everything. It will only use the API to see if there's something new. It will only download files if you enable "use local files". In all other cases it will put the image URL inside the xbmc database and then the image is only downloaded once xbmc actually needs it since Frodo release.
In Eden it always had to download the files first to be able to display them.


Only one more tweak is needed to skip certain providers so they won't even be bothered at all if you already have every file OR you disabled certain image types.

If Martijn asks, i will remove the option. For the record, i did not come up with this option by myself. It's in one of the other skins, i'm not going to say which one just in case a persecution starts, but the credits go to the original author

I have never had any problems with the addon downloading when it's supposed not to.
