invisible pointer - thanks for putting this in. it works but not completely. The cursor goes invisible whenever its not being used which is great but as soon as the mouse is moved the cursor re-appears. What I'd love to have is the ability to have xbmc hide the cursor no matter what ie even when the mouse is moved, and even when left or right-clicks are received by xbmc.

by the way - where are the pointer.png's stored. i thought i might experiment with making every pointer a blank png, what do you think?

That's how I did it, when you toggle "Invisible Mouse Pointer" the MOD uses a completely transparent mouse pointer image, which works on a Win7 system.

If your mouse pointer is still showing then it's your system cursor, not XBMC's & sorry I've no idea how to help with that.

OK, I'm lost. 2 issues:
Version 1.1.2 worked fine for me. Highlighting Videos on the main menu it would show "Files" and "Addons". Since updating, highlighting Videos on the main menu only shows "Files" and I can't figure out how to add it back without just rolling back to 1.1.2.

Second, even when rolling back now to 1.1.2 once the screen dims it never comes back out of dim.

Never a good idea to go backwards The dim screen in v1.1.2 is probably the issue that thebearnecessit had. The home screen does not grab focus properly once the screen saver has been activated. I think this is now resolved, so you will need to have a later version to get rid of that problem.

Re the "Videos" submenu - Raise the menu bar or hide the shutdown button, price of a lower menu bar is one less submenu item. On checking for you I see that the option to add "Video Addons" to a submenu is missing - I'll add it in - Another update

Also would it be possible to add a smartplaylist to the main menu, that way I could have one entitled "3D Movies" next to the movie one and thus list all files with the "3dbd" in them....?

To turn off the Recent/Random/Suggested Widget - In Skin Settings --> Home Menu - Select "Widget Set" for your menu item and select "Clear Menu Option" this will turn it off for the selected menu item.

To add a smartplaylist to the main menu, you first have to create your playlist, then go into Skin Settings --> Home Menu - Select which menu item you want 1 to 10. from the available list select "Playlist (Videos)" and choose your previously created playlist. The options avail when creating a playlist are the same options I have when creating a pre-set playlist.

With 3D movies as far as I know it's still only possible to read the file name & then display a flag for it. if you know of a skin doing it differently let me know.

Re: Current Versions

Can I just mention that the only way to stay up-to-date with the current version is to use my personal repo installed via the zip option in XBMC.

Other places like Super Repo are stuck back on version 1.1.2 as of 24thJune. While it's entirely up to you what version you prefer to use, any feature requests or bug fixes will obviously only happen in new releases. Also any help offered will have the presumption that you're on the latest greatest version of the MOD

Just to let you know that the Aeon skins and also the Back Row one (using that on my main HTPC) can display the 3D tag / icon. They an also display a 3D case different to that of a DVD / BD type.

As an example....(Back Row)




this displays SD / HD and 3D in a clear to see "icon" denoting the format the film is in. I do not bother about a coverflow type of view but if I did I would then see the different cases representing the format of the film. You can see that I have two copies of some films, 3D and std HD but it is easy to select the one that you would want.

...again using the Back Row skin and you can see the 3D type icons etc on the right in the column of movies.

This does not happen with this mod of the Confluence skin.

Now I know what you want That's possible, but with Confluence the resolution is shown by using the info in the media library. Without checking I'd say BackRow is reading the file name to get a SD, HD or 3D, which would be up to the user to name the file correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong.

AFAIK the skin will pick up the 3D tag from the filename, as you noted. As long as that filename has 3dbd in it then the 3D "icon" seen above will be applied. Also, if in a coverflow type view, you will then see....

IIRC the Aeon MQ3 skin will show a 3D case with an orange outline, whilst the Back Row skin (in the above link, will show it with the 3D label on the blue BD case.

do you use last.fm?

i'd love to be able to press a button (on-screen or keyboard) in xbmc that sends a message to lest.fm to say that the current playing track is a "loved track".

I tried adding the first line (the "lastfm love" line) into my keyboard.xml so that I wouldnt have to bug you again, but when i press the keyboard button i get an error message from the last.fm addon saying "artist not recognised, could not add "business" to you loved artists..."

"business" was the track name, so it seems to be getting mixed up and thinking the track name is the artist name.

any ideas?

No don't use it, actually thought it didn't work anymore. I'll have a look for you though. Going to be away for a couple of days from tomorrow but should have time next week.

Quick Edit Had a look, will place Love/Ban buttons on Stats bar if plugin installed & playing music - We can see from there what to do next

great mod, just started using XBMC a couple weeks ago! i have a question, i am trying to put multiple images of the artist playing (fan art) the song in the background, with or without the visualization on. for some reason, it is only pulling one artist no matter which song is playing from the folder. the folder isn't just one artist. its a "rock music" folder with multiple artist. kind of a favorites of the genre. not sure if its updating all of them or if its even possible. would anyone please point to the settings that would need to be setup for this? i figured i had it set right but it is only showing the one artist for everything... thanks for the help. great forum.

Regarding the Ability to select a Favourite for a Home Screen Panel Widget:

Favourites on Widgets - would have to be separate widget as cannot browse plugins & favourites in same window.

As a work around, is it possible to have a selection process similar to when adding items to a submenu? IE: the MenuOption List is shown, then we select either 'Installed AddOn' List, or 'Favourites' List', and then choose the actual item we want?

I mention this again because mix & match is best for user flexibility (same like when you allowed the Panel to access all addons, not just Video, Music, etc, individually - much better like this).

And finally, can we please have the option to have Episode Titles back on the Recent Items Widget? This disappeared with the last update.

three questions:

- sorry, but how do i deselect the "recently added movie/tv show" on the "tv-shows" and "movies" tab on main page?
- can i add a "videos (source)" (created source), like "videos (folder)", as a menu tab? (so i can make seperate tabs for tv shows, documentaries, movies aso)?

- any idea how to assign a thumbnail and fanart to a normal folder? folder-named tbn not working for me.
