While on the subject of Path Settings - I'd better explain them

• GenreFanart - Set by default just some background images when browsing Movie Genre List - May still do more work on it
  
• Movie Fanart - Default Home Screen for Movies menu item if set will use these images, if not set grabs fanart from widgets.script
  
• TVShow Fanart - As above for TVshows Home Menu item
  
• Concerts Fanart - Same for Concerts / Music Videos if on Home screen
  
• Artists Fanart - Used as above for Music Button
  
• Album Thumbnails - Used for Album wall in Music viz if selected. Again if not set grabs album thumbs from widgets script
  
• Favourites Fanart - As explained in previous post - put in fanart images as jpg named exactly (case sensitive) as favourite item
  
• Weather Fanart - Mods default weather backgrounds. If you know what you're doing you can change to different folder/images

Just out of interest, how many of you guys keep the menu bar in the raised position eg Original Confluence ?

I prefer raised as i like to have my addons under and my widgets above just to separate them.

Edit: But if you made it lowered permanently it would not really bother me i can adapt but the option is nice.

It's fine. The code is already in so the option is there and for every response in the forums there'll be plenty of users that agree but are lurking

I've kept mine as the original confluence for now. The customisation possibilities for your MOD are vast - one thing at a time ;o)

One good thing I did is install XBMC on my computer (MS OS) - It's very, very quick to play around with, to customise the skin, experiment with the home menu, without breaking your media center.

Good idea to mess around with XBMC not on your Media Center - I try to but sometimes, you just got to test something

Except for the blue background which is different I think you can get all the way back to original Confluence by changing a few of the settings, haven't tried in a while. When I first started the MOD that was important, now it's slipped a bit

Ah - I just meant about the menu bar - I wouldn't want to go back to the original Confluence and if I did I think I'd just switch back to it via the appearance tab! Confluence is the fastest skin around and your mod just makes it better.

For those who are a bit shy of breaking stuff like me, you can configure XBMC to open in a window that you just resize, thus allowing you to have other windows opened - This is how I figure what differenc there was 'widget' and 'submenu' by looking at the wiki and playing with XBMC at the same time !

I've tried to keep the MOD simple for "responsible" people by making things easy or in some cases like weather backgrounds setting it up as default. I belong to the group that gets something new & start pressing buttons, only when it's totally unusable I'll try reading the manual - totally irresponsible

When something is well designed and intuitive from start, no need for a manual (good thing you're not looking at a tactical nuclear missile launch pad though)

I assume that if I back up this skins folder then all the customised settings would be saved, whilst I can remember what I have done now I doubt I will by the time I would need to do it again.!

wow man 669 movies? how much space is that taking up?!?

^^^ lol I had recently "tidied" up my collection as I did have just under 1000. I have 5 x 2TB hard drives installed in a microserver and what with those movies and nearly 200 TV shows room was getting a little low.

I seem to have come across a small issue since upgrading to the latest version of the skin.

My 'Recently Added' TV Shows won't play from the Recently Added Widget. I dont get any error msg, instead the pop up box showing 'opening stream' is just displayed endlessly.

However if I try to play the item from the Recently Added List (or from the Library) it works per normal.
Movies also work per normal from the Recently Added Widget, so the problem only seems to be with TV Shows.

Any thoughts about this Mudislander?

How do I get the recently added widget to show? Also, does it work per playlist? Example is I have a Kid's Movies Playlist and Movies Playlist on my home screen. Would it show recently added independently, or lump them all together?

Wow it's been a while since I've been over these here parts but I just had to find the official thread to say a massive THANKYOU! This is exactly what I was after, it runs smooth on all platforms I've tested so far and is very customisable - well done sir.

I have a cheeky little request... Is there any chance you could add another two more addon shortcut user selections? I don't mean add two more icons to the homepage I mean two more sections. I really need 7 for what I'm working on but the option is only for 5. Another submenu category set would be nice too, oh and whilst on the subject of the submenu there doesn't appear to be one for "programs". It appears in the selection list but it doesn't show when selected and isn't in the "submenu items" section in settings either.

I completely understand if that's too much to ask for and I would be willing to have a little tinker myself if someone could guide me If you could let me know whether it's a lot of hassle or just a quick fix that would be great. Cheers.

HobieWanKenobi Small side step for playlists first. Navigate to Skin Settings --> Scripts & Paths. Check "Playlist Widget Script" is enabled and "Recent/Random" plus "Unwatched" toggles match what you want NB enabling "Unwatched" can cause performance issues

This runs the Playlist widget and as per initial install menu item "Family" the items shown are independent.

Next navigate to Skin Settings --> Home Menu and navigate to your menu item. Screenie shows default install "Family" which is a playlist.

Select "Widget Set" for menu of available choices for widgets. NB if menu item is a playlist then "Playlists" option available which is run by script in our side step above. Other options are the generic library options

whufclee As always - You're welcome, luckily it's something I enjoy working on.

First your observation on "Programs Submenu" Does seem to be a lost soul Will look into it, used to work but along the way must have gotten forgotten - will fix.

Secondly, your request for more addon sets - popular request for extra addon or submenu sets. The problem is knowing when the resources required are justified. While this MOD was initially intended for "Fat Boy" machines ATM it can run on Pi's etc. Guess we can try another 2 sets & see what happens, will be a couple of weeks though
