I've made it work with mpd 0.16.5, anyone has issues with older versions of server? I can't test it on anything but 0.16

I'd like to use this but at present the navigation is very hard for large libraries and as the "music" items aren't shown as a library to XMBC, XBMC cannot retrieve metadata on them.

I'm thinking of something similar to what PleXBMC managed to do, where the app integrated closely to XBMC's look and feel.

Hi I have a plan to rewrite client using and ortinary audio addon API, so it would be skin-independent, unfortunately I am quite busy and do not have enough time to do that

Sorry if I missed it in this thread, but is there a way to prevent the shutdown / suspend process from happening while listening to music with mpd?

Perhaps triggering the "Inhibit idle shutdown" during playback?

I don't know if this thread is still alive and seen by the author of MPDclient addon. Mayby someone else has an answer or an idea to my problem:
Why is there no BACK or HOME button at the mdpclient screen. MPDclient screen is allways in fullscreen mode in every skin I used and I can't touch the BACK or HOME button e. g. of the Confluence skin. I'll try to use XBMC/KODI at a pure touchscreen environment (no mouse, no keyboard). But when I want to leave the mpdclient I have to use a right click mouse button or a ESC key from keyboard. Is there another way or trick to switch to another area of XBMC only with touch action (left klick actions)?

I am running this plugin in Kodi 17.1 (Krypton) and Lubuntu 17.04. It near always says "paused" when i try to play a track.
Maybe this plugin need some update due to changes in the Kodi internal structure. Won't you mantain anymore it?

Is MPD working correct? What happens if you type mpc play 1 or mpc play 2 (for mpd running on localhost) in a terminal. Do you hear anything? Do you have the package ncmpc installed? Is a pretty programm with an nc-GUI which gives you a fine overview. If mpd server is running at another machine you have to type ncmpc -h IP.OF.MPD.SERVER to connect.

 And what is the result of cat /var/log/mpd/mpd.log after you tried to use mpd by KODI. Are there any hints?

There was some hints about busy audio hardware. So i checked if Kodi had interface sounds enabled and, yes, after disabling it, and restarted mpd, it worked. I suppose i should disable even the option for mantaining active the audio device for a given amount of time.

After configuring it with IP and Port and then starting it in KODI 17.6, I just get the error "An error occured, see log" and it crashes.
