Tested the new client, it installs fine but I cannot get it to connect to the backend to load the epg or recordings.

Here are a few things to try:
Turn Live TV off and then back on.
Reset the PVR database.
Take a look at the XBMC log (~/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log) and see if there are any clues.

Is this your first time setting up pvr.wmc or are you upgrading?

It looks like the PVR database has changed in the latest build (more data is requested/stored) so it might be having a problem with old data.

Hey everyone,

I put up new windows versions of the clients (1014). The frodo changes are minor, just nicer messages to the user when doing instant records. The gotham one has the same changes, but more importantly uses the new pvr interface (1.9.0), so it won't crash with the newest gotham nightly.

I will post other platforms as I get them.

Sorry guys, the brain is not working today. I swear at one time, you could go ahead a few hours in the guide, select a program and it would bring up the series recording dialog (as long as you were setup for it). Now, it just plays the channel. I also tried pressing record and that did nothing at all. My xmls are in the right place and I always use Confluence for tests like this. What am I forgetting?

TechLife, when you move ahead to the show you want to record, just hit the info button to bring up the add timer screen.

Also as Krusty mentioned, the default XBMC keymappings arent setup to bind anything to the Record command. So you need to setup a keymap to bind a key/combination to the Record command. I wonder what command a standard MCE remote sends through for the record button. I use a Logitech harmony so I will probably just do as Krusty does and have my remote send Ctrl-R from the Record button, and then map Ctrl-R to XBMC record command

scarecrow420, I just checked using the "ShowKey" app and this is what shows when I hit the record button <q>Notification(Key,q,3)</q>

Not sure what that mean

I think that means it sends a "Q" key

You could confirm by opening notepad and hitting this button, seeing if QQQQQ gets printed in notepad Smile
