@krustyreturns: partly yes. The proposed changes from Elupus are already in the gotham nightlies, which already results in an improvement but it is still slower than the proposed changes from #3590.
Elupus did not really like our changes, so I don't think #3590 will make it into Gotham. Until then, I will continue providing my adapted Gotham builds.
I'm currently fixing my build virtual machine to build an updated Gotham setup with the stutter fix and the pvr.wmc addon included.

I do a Windows installer build of my own almost everyday because sub's changes for NextPVR missed the opdenkamp commit too. I can post it on a free host if there is any interest. It's stock with margro's PR and the change for the pvr build,

On Windows if installed with the tick it is enabled by default but it can be disabled. I found you need Adin rights to do this cleanly.

But why it is enabled by default under Linux/OpenElec and can't be disabled?

Actually several addons are enabled by default on Windows. Maybe on linux it is access related and you need to disable as root. Did anyone post logs on the OpenElec forum? The error messages must be quite annoying.

OK it looks like the XBMC build scripts were updated today to include the latest versions of the PVR addons (which included the commits that pushed our addon into the official repo), so hopefully pvr.wmc should be in nightlies from now on...
