I am US military stationed overseas in Japan so I do not have a cable provider. I know the standard for using a PVR requires a tv tuner of some sort to connect to your XBMC system (mac mini for me). However, I do have a Verzion FIOS and an Xfininty login to watch live tv on my phone, iPad and computer. My question is can I use these logins to setup a PVR on XBMC so I can watch, record and pause livetv without using a tuner? Thank you

Mythtv certainly allows for IPTV "tuners". (If that is what xfinity is).
Try the mythtv mailing list. If mythtv can record it, xbmc should play it.

It´s been a while since I used any tuners but i think mediaportals tv server has support for IPTV aswell. If it will work with xfinity is another matter though..
