You can use the "renamer", to rename everything according to your settings, to prepare it for XBMC.
(Do that after scraping a movie)
But you didn't want to do that...

You cannot just rename a file - this usually makes no sense?!

Thank you, myron.

Do you mean "theRenamer" or simply "renamer".

After? Not before? Why?

Oops, I didn't...? Why? Why do you think that? I am a bit confused.

Oooops, my confusing becomes more intensive. Do I understand it right? Renaming files and so sense? Why is that?

Very sorry for my misunderstanding.

- scrape your movies/shows to get the right metadata/names/years/...
- use "rename & cleanup" to rename your files accordingly (as setup in settings, as you like) (test it on a single movie first)

You don't have to use any other program or do anything manually...

Change the movie renamer settings for your needs.
See
http://www.tinymediamanager.org/index.ph.../settings/ (Part Movies)
then use the "rename & cleanup" function to do it for you.

You might want to read all the other docu Manuel has written...

Thank you for the links, myron,

Some pages to read, I had have some looks at it, already. Actually, I just wanted to know how you could rename just one single file name, but that is very interesting, also, I will have some further looks at it.

OK, thank you for that.

You cant rename a single file, but you can rename a complete movie with ALL its files.
This is the usual way to go.
Reason is, because the poster, fanarts & other files derive their name from the video file...

Thank you, mlaggner,

When I click on that button the message "Filme\Masters of Horror (2006): Failed to rename" appears.

It sound like it is not possible to manually enter a new name.

Thanks again
