Ok, Things are communicating.
I am able to access the backend now. I just did the upgrade as mentioned above and completely purged all traces of Myth, reinstalled and it worked the first time. There are some odd bugs in XBMC's Myth PVR for Live TV, but I will open a new thread for that set of issues.
