So I was able to sideload xbmc on the firetv. I'm having a couple of issues:

1) No LiveTV channels are showing up, I can only see recordings. I have enabled LiveTV in xbmc.
2) It doesn't seem that there is deinterlacing for mpeg2 content. Is there a way to enable it?

I'd like to post logs, but don't know how to grab them - is it possible to ssh into the firetv? Do I need to root it in order to do that?

try the log uploader addon, or look st the wiki debug log (wiki)
