I tried your version and it works. (Gotham,win7x64). Only issue is that it is not possible to switch off display during video playback.
I need to switch off lcd display during playing video but need to view info while music is playing. When listening music I do not switch our TV on, so ability to view menus is welcomed
It seems that switchies from GUI does not work.
I tried to search in source too and it seems there are no methods for switch off display
Is it possible to share document about IMON api: iMON_Display_API_1_00_0929.pdf ? It is not available from their site

someguy on imon forum requested support for enabling/disabling display, but Soundgraph simply pis*off its customers

Hi,

In the past I was using MediaPortal as frontend for my HTPC (equipped with a Soundgraph iMON VFD) and its display driver was able to switch off the VFD while playing video (yes, your request make 100% sense!). So I think that this feature is possible to be implemented also in XBMConiMON Display...

Unfortunately I really don't know where and how to start! Teherefore I'm looking forward for some modifications from who is able to do that!

I am running parslej version of XBMC on iMON on Gotham 13.2, Windows 7 SP1 x64 and I can get everything working okay except the timecode. I've tried all (I think) the other versions and this is the only one I've had any success with. Can anyone suggest where I might be going wrong?

I'm desperately trying to set up my box VFD OrigenAE S16V.

I have Windows 8.1 64bit, xbmc RC1 gotham and VFD module 310.'ve Installed the latest version of the Imon Manager and xbmconimon parslej version. The result is that I see the navigation menus and what I play in xbmc but the titles do not move and are cut.

What am I doing wrong?

hi, i don't think the parslej version support scrolling on VFD. Maybe try my version.

The two versions are working in principle but there are some little issues:
- version 1 is working but without text scrolling, if the displayed show text is too long. I think this feature is also not implemented? Update of show name is working.
- version 2 is working: line 1 with text scrolling is working, line 2 with actual time display and final time is working, also graphical display of elapsed time. But if I switch to the next channel, in line 1 the displayed show text is no updated! Only line 2 is updated with the actual an final time stamp.

What I'm doing wrong?

I have cdenfert version 1.0.4 of XbmcOnImonVFD, it successfully connect to imon and XMBC but i don't see anything on my vfd except date and clock. Is anybody solve this problem and how if did?
I was put advancedsettings.xml. in C:\Users\my user name\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata with
<jsonrpc>
<tcpport>9090</tcpport>
</jsonrpc>
code, but still nothing.

It seems like imon do not allow external plugin to take control over vfd display though this options is checked in imon, and xmbc in MediaInformation unchecked.

My system is Windows 8,1 x64, XBMC v 13.2 Gotham, Imon (vfd) version 8.12..

Hi all,

For me, the only version that work is the Parslej's one
I run on Plex HT an all is working too.
My display is this one in a Jonsbo Cooltek G3 Case

Just two things, certainly because of plex :
With "control mode" enabled, when i'm on a movie page, the only text is "Default button"
When a Tv show is playing, i have only title, like in movie parameters. no Season / Episode number.
Not critical

Is it possible to add an option in "control mode" to disabled it after some minutes and displaying the default "static text / current time" ?
The option exists in cdenfert version, but this one don't wan't to connect.

Thanks for the hint, but unfortunately I have not the expertize on this topic.

I was using MediaPortal in the past and the MiniDisplay driver was working perfectly...even the graphic equalizer during music playback and turn off the display while watching movies...

It would be nice to have such features implemented also in Kodi...

Unfortunately i have no development skills, i'm a retired Team MediaPortal member and back in the days i was the main tester for the MiniDisplay stuff (togheter with belcom and chemelli) and yes, after many trials and errors we managed to have an almost perfectly working VFD/LCD.
I can ask some help from the MP developers (mostly those involved in MiniDisplay development) in case it's needed, but i have the feeling that Kodi handles this VFD/LCD stuff in a different manner than MP.

Kodi crashes to me when i start a movie. ...till the movie start i see in vfd a play text and then kabum.

Thanks work great but please add support for special characters because do not display for example my folder names for example "• Music •" cause by this dot characters, name is blank, also do not display polish characters then also nothing display
One more thing during playbacj display file title and in second line time, but would be great to have still display control navigation during playback.

matrix's imon mod is perfectly working for me. I am on Gotham on windows 7.

However i have a quick question..

Do you guys get the display that shows the audio or video bitstream for the movie you are playing in XBMC. imon vfd does have the option, but it never shows. Please see the screenshot below.



Do u get these to show up for the items marked in the box?

Also, someone earlier mentioned, that with Matrix's mod you get two lines... i just see one, as seen in the screenshot above. Is this what you get as well? or something i need to enable?

Usually in your imon VFD what kind of display do you keep when not watching XBMC?

I like to have the graphical EQ show up for all the audio played in the PC.



But at times when no audio is played the screen remains blank, is there a way this can be over come, as in when audio is played it automatically switches to graphical EQ display, and when not streaming a/v just the scroller news.. ect?
