CCM for Helix
Great to see you working on the skin again, was wondering if wrap around menu options could be added to the contents of Movies, TV Shows and Music submenus?

Just as a general reminder, some buttons / functions which seem superfluous when using a keyboard or a remote, are actually highly useful when using a touchscreen. Previously in CCM we did a lot of small tweaks in relation to this.

But it can certainly be applicable to Volume Buttons (incl Larger Jumps), Home, Back, Power, Favourites, Settings, etc, etc. Smile

Actually Re: touchscreen, Isn't the left hand slide out menu in Confluence a major pain in the way it will not stay open. Tried Kodi with Confluence on my tablet just for fun and can I say - I'm not a fan!!! Unfortunately while working away from home I got drawn to the dark side and think for portable devices - Plex is way way better Big Grin

Mudislander quick question for you about the fanart that floats around in the background when playing music I guess in the list view. Is that all part of the hide background fanart option you said wasn't working very well?

Yes, but this problem with the left menu arrived when I updated to Gotham and the latest CCM, it wasn't present previously.

It seems to me to be some kind of focus problem, because if you touch carefully on the top part of the little tab (and if you are lucky), it will open normally. Also if you touch in the middle like normal it seems to click one of the round button options inside the menu instead. However if you use the Kodi Remote app on your phone to do the navigation, the menu works all as normal.

I must admit that I assumed it was a CCM problem because I never checked it in Confluence Blush

Regarding using Kodi on a touchscreen in general, yes it takes a bit of adapting, however with CCM and your previous tweaks for touchscreen I find all works just fine after you get used to it (and learn some of the touchscreen specific gestures, eg: 2 finger tap to get the context menu).

I use it daily on my iPad and I don't really have any issues related to the touch screen except this new left menu problem.

This for me is a big reason why I use CCM, so that the Kodi interface looks identical on my PC, my Tablet, and my TV box Nod

(I dabbled with Plex in the past and whilst it might be better in standalone mode for portable devices, I don't want to have a 'different' UI experience on my tablet - I want a seamless experience between devices)

NB: Kodi = Gotham 13.2 for me at the moment.

On my tablet (android) I still use Gotham (waiting for Hybrid/Helix Smile ) anyway I use the Hybrid skin. I read a post on this forum about this problem with the slide out menu. It had a file to edit a line in that lowers the tab you touch to open the menu. I got mine edited to put it all the way down near the bottom left corner. It doesn't solve the issue of closing but it does make it so it doesn't jump to closed or cause you to select and option you did not want to select.

"includes.xml"

Edit starting at line 246 to this:

<control type="button" id="9001">
<left>250</left>
<top>600</top>
<width>42</width>
<height>128</height>
<texturefocus>Home/HasSub.png</texturefocus>
<texturenofocus>Home/HasSub.png</texturenofocus>
</control>

Sure helped my tablet out.

EDIT: HERE is the thread I got it from.

You know it just dawned on me...
I know you are still working on the favorites for menus but I could just add settings to the favorites menu if I wanted couldn't I?
Perhaps thats a better solution to my problem without causing problems for others.
My issue has as much to do with the fact I use a mouse not a remote than anything else.

Found a bug, when you change shutdown on menubar to hidden it doesnt hide, it puts the word hidden in its place, think its item 5 on system

Doesnt do it on other items

I've noticed that when the background for weather is set to live, some conditions (such as "Drizzle") cause a black screen instead of any kind of default background.

also found a bug: setting a pvr recording doesn't work. on standard confluence when in the PVR EPG, bringing up the context menu and selecting 'set time' brings up the recording menu to set up a recording for a one time tv show, record for the season, record only new episodes, etc. This doesn't work on the current CCM helix build. If I select "set time" in the context menu the recording menu does not come up and I'm unable to set the recording. Had to go back to stock confluence for now, and that makes me a sad boy

Just installed ccm for the first time, very impressed so far. As far as the fonts, is the Large font the only big size font available? There are some characters that only Arial font can display in foreign characters. Is there a way to add a Large Arial font?

I presume you're using the MOD supplied live conditions ?

Looked into this one. There is a problem showing a fallback image on a multiimage path, which is why there is no fallback. I could change it to a single image per condition which is what the default live condition uses. But users that adjust the live weather images would not be able to have more than one image per condition.

Will think about it. But could you try look at the log in your kodi directory and tell me the number of the condition which is bombing out, you should see something like the code below with a number at the end

Code:
Error getting special://skin/extras/Weather/

There is a font called Massive.ttf that was added as well which supports foreign characters.

I believe Mudislander temporary removed it from the list. But to get it, all you have to do is to overwrite the 'Font.xml' file inside the 720p folder in his skin with the one called 'Font-New.xml' in the very same folder. No need to make a backup as there is also a 'Font-Original.xml' or something like that in the same folder which is already a backup.

Once you overwritten that file, open KODI again, and you'll find Massive as a font option. I actually gave him the font and I think he just kept the sizes the same as I had. But if you need to make anything bigger, or smaller, just tweak the Massive section in the 'Font.xml' file.

Can you expand a little on this one, I need to track it down. what you say makes sense as I use the word "hidden" to hide a default menu item. Only there is no default menu item for "Shutdown" so need to know how you got it there Smile Or you could post a copy of your "guisettings.xml" file.

Removed for the moment - I had an issue with the context menus, font was way too large on my system and needs a bit of adjustment. May have cleared out the other font.xml on the repo installation, but should still be on github.

Will look when I get the chance, but ATM the whole PVR section is default Confluence - I haven't touched a thing Smile Maybe there was a knock on effect from something else J have changed.
