Could I please make a small request for the API to be extended to support the PVR backend numbering for channels so things like picon/thumbs on external remotes will be in sync!

I'll second this feature-request.
I understand ChannelId's are exposed currently via the JSON API (PVR.GetChannels, etc), but not the back-end Channel-numbers themselves.
This would minimise confusion, as ChannelId's vs ChannelNo's are currently confusing add-ons.

Don't know if it's related but I also have issues with the channel order/number between the backend (using MP atm) and front end. Haven't even tried pressing numbers on my remote but if one thing it's confusing. Thought I was doing something wrong myself but it seems there's just something strange going on here which I don't get and atm just hope it's solved with kodi 15
