I finally got a chance to test the classic widget, it is so great to have it back. There is a small issue, though which I miss. Is it possible for (ongoing) TV Episoden to show episode and season information (e.g. 1x12) right before the Episode title?

Yep I was noticing this last night actually. Fixed now - also added the tvshow name in the info on the right.

Thanks. Fixed. Also fixed the issue with not being able to focus the list after opening the side menu.

unfortunately it's not working if i add the path to my picture library.. just my local drive letters and the home folder is shown in that view.

Ah yep you are right. I've figured out how to do it though... you need to add the source in the file manager (with the default home menu its in the settings submenu).
Go to file manager > Add source > Browse > Scroll down to the bottom > Add network location... > Configure it > hit ok > hit ok again. Now it should show up as a source for backgrounds.

I use openelec and dont get these loading times. Regardless, this is handled by the service.library.data.provider plugin not the skin.
Are you using network shares for content. I know that there can be long load times with these. However, once the content is loaded it should be cached and only take a second or two to update. With local content it only takes 2 seconds make on my main machine.

I know the old skin.widgets plugin was faster in terms of this sort of thing as it precached everything at startup, but the freedom the new methods provide is so much greater and so much less code than skin.widgets.

What resolution are you using? Skin is designed for 1920x1080 only. Poster sizes need to be 1000x1500px (themovidedb standard).

I get widget loading messages on my various devices. The old Pivos Xios is about 10secs. All media is hosted on a NAS so that might be the delay.

On the widget loading messages, maybe change the message to "loading" or "media info loading". A bit more nontech user friendly, less geeky.

This skin needs to be the default Kodi skin IMHO.

Yeah Im pretty sure library data provider is a bit slow over a network source... on local files its pretty quick. You could try making smart playlists with your required rules and see if they are any quicker.

i can only choose one widget for all.

just go to skin-settings -> customize home menu and select the entry you want to change the widget.
in the middle you can select one widget for each entry. (blue selected entry)

When you choose here: "choose widget" and then choose "nothing" this is not working i think.
can somebody confirm this?

When you choose nothing it defaults back to the default, which is movie spotlight I think.

I got around this in a way by selecting Weather widget in the menu items where I didn't want any of the existing widgets so it doesn't show anything but the weather.

You just need to set a slideshow in the options or set a background for the menu item... there has to be something to display otherwise the akin defaults back to the global widget. This is intentional because otherwise the screen would just be black.
