Currently on eg a RPi, when the monitor/tv is switched off, you can only put your Pi to sleep / off, which is only the second best choice on this device as the only way to resume is to unplug power. Also in general, if the device is also used as the pvr backend, it should not go to sleep, on the other side, if there is no active output device it does not make sense to block a tuner on the backend which might be used for another device.
So it would be great to have an option to unsubscribe from pvr as soon as no output device is conncted and to resume when the monitor is on again.
