do me a favor, do you know what kind of videocard you have on you system, posting that might help a little.

crap, I know I am tired now, you just posted it, sorry, well if anyone else has had this issue it would help to see if it's xbmc not liking his hardware or his windows not wanting to cooperate with xbmc and whatever changes during fullscreen.

though I know for me the vista version only started working well 2 releases ago. so I'm leaning toward the os. Since you card should be able to whip xbmc with a stick.

I'm using the latest compiled release.
That build also crashes quite a bit still... especially when playing videos. XBMC.exe throws exception and it crashes.
Does anyone have a newer build compiled that I can try?

Which device drivers (exactly) are you using for you graphic card?, ...as always; post a debug log.

I had some trouble with 3D overlay a while back...if I remember right, I had to turn off "triple buffering" in my video card manager to get it to work full-screen.
