Release Netflix style next up notification
(2015-06-10, 13:49)Mike_Doc Wrote: look forward to the new view, when 1080i it should work for me, had to re-design the 720 completely so will wait to see your new version before trying to do something myself. Thanks,

Good news, I just checked it in along with adding the title and clearart image for still watching.

This is how the default now looks:

And slightly more bling in my modded skin to include the cancel and play button in the centre section, along with being able to use custom fonts (add ons still cannot have their own fonts currently Sad )

Individual skins can of course add those settings for the custom windows or possibly people using subtitles can adjust the notification time if it's blocking useful information. The default will be much smaller though and located at the bottom right (and also defaulted to working on 1080i skins, rather than the 720p format it has now) so it should be more widely accepted.

But if it was possible to show the notification after the last subtitle this would not be a problem Wink

Indeed, it would also be cool to be able to show it when the credits started...however it is not Confused

Maybe there is a way to get subtitles rendered above this as long as they are not hardcoded?

Hi,

Just pulled down the latest from the GIT and removed my 2 xmls and on first try I get this:

Would you have any idea why it just places it in the top left, it did the same with the original 720 version? Is there quick fix or do I need to re-design it again?

I'm on v15 Isengard but not the latest nightly? does that matter?

No idea..I'm also using v15 Isengard so that cannot be an issue. Just double checked and the positioning should be bottom right! Strange one that

Just checking, I read this should work with strm files if they are loaded in the library, I have strm files and this add-on only shows when playing local media.

Some people have reported it works, some have not. When I looked at one report from a user the information provided from the strm was not sufficient to find the next episode. So to summarise..it may/may not work. Local files though are the main target for this addon.

I've setup my system freshly with emby and I'm going to test the strm files shortly to see if it will work. Looking in show folders emby has done a great job in pulling all data required.

Will report back shortly.

Edit: well emby has done a good job in getting all data and nextup is working great on all local files, however emby has moved all strm files into season folders under show title folder and now kodi thinks the files have been removed and asks if I want to remove it from library.

Not sure why it does not like them in season folders, will have to investigate.

Strange, I did add some strm files a couple of weeks back to Emby by just placing them all in the TV show folder and they were scraped correctly into the appropriate seasons/episodes etc

Can you report this in our Kodi section in the Emby forums, ideally with a log file so that one of us can look into it to see if it's an addon problem. Thanks

Will sort out posting in emby forums with log tomorrow.

Ok cool, did you btw add your strm files to the server as I mentioned to allow Emby to scrape the data? Basically you just place all the files in the TV folder and Emby does its magic...worked fine for me that way at least

Yes emby server is looking at all my local files including strm files, all are being scraped and synced in kodi.

Obviously this is not a nextup issue, film strm files work fine it's just shows that are not.

But as I was testing nextup it's when I noticed this issue.

Don't want to go off topic so will give full details tomorrow.

Great addon and emby is great so I've gone for lifetime donation.

Just a quick update as I ran a test this morning.

I removed the show completely from Kodi/Emby Server and re-added it. Emby scraped the data and Kodi was able to play the strm without issue... and Nextup worked!!

I will test more later when home from work, but I think it's looking positive for strm files if using Emby to populate Metadata.
