Maybe there is a way to get subtitles rendered above this as long as they are not hardcoded?

Just checking, I read this should work with strm files if they are loaded in the library, I have strm files and this add-on only shows when playing local media.

Some people have reported it works, some have not. When I looked at one report from a user the information provided from the strm was not sufficient to find the next episode. So to summarise..it may/may not work. Local files though are the main target for this addon.

Ok cool, did you btw add your strm files to the server as I mentioned to allow Emby to scrape the data? Basically you just place all the files in the TV folder and Emby does its magic...worked fine for me that way at least

Yes emby server is looking at all my local files including strm files, all are being scraped and synced in kodi.
Obviously this is not a nextup issue, film strm files work fine it's just shows that are not.
But as I was testing nextup it's when I noticed this issue.
Don't want to go off topic so will give full details tomorrow.
Great addon and emby is great so I've gone for lifetime donation.

Just a quick update as I ran a test this morning.
I removed the show completely from Kodi/Emby Server and re-added it. Emby scraped the data and Kodi was able to play the strm without issue... and Nextup worked!!
I will test more later when home from work, but I think it's looking positive for strm files if using Emby to populate Metadata.
