Thumbnail Cache

XBMC will cache all Thumbnails to UserData\Thumbnails\ using the CRC of the path of the file or folder as a filename. That is the first location XBMC will generally look for a thumbnail for a given item.
In order for your custom thumbnail to show, you may have to delete the cached thumbnail.

i dont have a UserData\Thumbnails\
yet it still remmbers my thumbs

Your userdata directory is likely under the AppData folder (i.e. wherever settings for programs are stored under windows).

yes you do, if not in your program files folder, then in your application data folder.

i have found userdata thats np problem

its the thumbnail folder that is not in the userdate

Both locations have userdata folders, only one of them holds the thumb cache though.

sorry for the dumb question here but is this in XBMC folder i cant find this anywhere

also scanned C:\Program Files\XBMC for thumb only found a few in apple folder

On XP, it's C:\Documents And Settings\<yourusername>\<somewhere>

No idea about Vista - I'm sure google will tell you though

hi again mate yea am on XP cant find it anywhere tho i know your a pro and all but you sure its called The AppData mate
as i scanned the whole harddrive even hidden etc..

ok am still doing something wrong ive deleted the thumbs folder than started XBMC and it still shows the wrong thumbs

Were there many files in the folder you deleted?

What do you get now, the same ones as before, or no thumbs at all?

Also what thumbs are you now trying to use and how are they named?

i would've believed this for music because music files will inherit folder images and "album" images.

are you sure you deleted the thumb cache? in your xbmc install folder, if you see a userdata folder, delete userdata\thumbnails\videos
