Modified Keymap.xml
#1
Hello all. I wanted to share my modified Keymap.xml file. This is what I've been using alongside my Antec Fusion Black case to get XBMC for Windows running as similarly to XBMC for XBOX as I can. I've changed some things around to keep key consistency throughout different menus (i.e. the letter m, which I have my remote's Menu button mapped to, will bring up the menu in fullscreen video, but also back you out to the Home screen when browsing files). If no one finds this useful, no big deal. For those using remote button to key mapping like I am, this works out pretty great. I know this won't be necessary in the long run, but presently I'd be stuck using a keyboard without it.

Anyway, hope this helps someone out. Enjoy.

Nice one - I already did the same and mapped it to my harmony remote using irtrans server (remote <-> key mapping).

Nice - What Harmony remote do you have? I'm using the 520 right now, which is my first entry into the world of Harmony remotes. The Soundgraph iMON software that drives the LCD on my case does my key mapping.

Hello!

Thanks, gabestover. Basically, I have the same setup (Antec Fusion + Harmony 525), and a lot of commands (toggle subtitle, change audio, etc) are not working by default. So I hope this modified file will do the trick for me.

Hi there,

I´m using the 525 (and will probably upgrade to the 885). As I´m using the IR-Transserver I have setup the 525 to work as MCE-Remote and did another keymapping according to the keymapping for xbmc in the irtrans software to enable all those missing functions.

Maybe there is a similar way in iMon too ...

You are using what XBMC version? (On w32?)
Are you sure the remote IR codes are being read by XBMC?
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

I am using 32-bit Vista and XBMC Atlantis alpha3.
The arrows + enter key works on the remote in XBMC so i gues XBMC can read the IR codes but nothing else works :/

To try and clear up any possible confusion, the keymap.xml I posted only modified the keyboard section. I changed keys used in order to work in conjunction with the iMon software for my Antec Fusion case. All the keypresses on my remote are mapped to keyboard keys, which then control XBMC. It wasn't made to be used in conjunction with the IR Server Suite at all. I'll eventually start using that, I would imagine, but for now, every remote button for my Harmony is just mapped to a keyboard key or key combination. Again, sorry for any confusion.

To Merlinen, if you're using the iMon software like I am, or anything that maps remote buttons to keypresses, make sure that the keymap.xml is in the appropriate UserData folder depending on how you have your XBMC set up. (either in C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\UserData or C:\Program Files\XBMC\UserData for the default install location) I'm using the same keymap.xml in Atlantis Alpha 3 that I have posted here, and it's working fine for me. If I can be of any (more) help, feel free to PM me or post here, etc.

gabestover - have you managed to power on the computer using the remote? I also have an antec fusion enclosure, and I have got all the mappings down except for the power on/ power off functionality. Also, my second question, is there any way with the Imon software to launch any file (not just .exe files)?

Ninjamawwe, if you have the same version of the Fusion case I have (the Fusion Black 430), you have to nearly disassemble the front panel & re-route a connection from the LCD/IR panel to the motherboard, and from the power switch (I believe) to the LCD/IR panel. Here's a link to Antec's website for exactly what goes where: http://www.antec.com/us/support_roductIn...2&FAQno=24

I'm not sure if you can make iMon launch anything besides exe files, but I haven't tried. I'll give it a shot later today and let you know whether or not I'm able to run a .bat, etc. What exactly are you trying to run?

Ninjamawwe, you can make a batch file and make iMon run it, or you can simply create a shortcut to any file, and the shortcut may be run by iMon.

Merlinen, forget the bundled VFD software with the Antec case, get the iMon software from soundgraph.com, and you can map any command to any key. Works great with Antec Fusion Black 430, Logitech Harmony 525, WinXP & xbmc.
