Severe XVID sync problems since last few CVS
#1
i seem to get really bad sync problems now in pretty much every xvid i have. i 'think' this has only started happening since the xvid codec was updated.
just tried the 26-11 cvs and i still get the same problem.

i get the exact same problems in xbmp now as well since it has had its codec updated.

it makes no difference where i play the videos from, dvd, relax, xbox hdd or smb.

here is the gspot information for one of the latest videos i have tried and get problems with.

avi file details
========================================
name.........: the office 2.1.avi
filesize.....: 216 mb (or 221,191 kb or 226,499,712 bytes)
runtime......: 00:29:18 (43,959 fr)
video codec..: xvid
video bitrate: 898 kb/s
audio codec..: 0x0055(mp3) id'd as mpeg-1 layer 3
audio bitrate: 128 kb/s (64/ch, stereo) cbr
frame size...: 720x408 (1.76:1) [=30:17]

hope this is of some help, cheers!

does gspot say if it is opendml or riff avi? also note that 408 in resolution is not devidable by 16 so may case problems

under stream type it says the following..

type:opendml avi
imrr:1.00
i/l:5 vid frames (200 ms) split: yes

hope thats of some use?

i'll just go and gspot the other films that are going out of sync and see if theres anything common except for the fact they are xvid!

cheers

know that opendml is not yet supportd by xbmc/xbmp/mplayer so you should try to play file in xbmp and/or mplayer too

well, i seem to be having the same problem. sync is not working with latest builds.

works with xbmp for me (but then again, i am using an older version of xbmp).

almost all my divx/xvid seem to be using opendml, but this problem does not seem to be limited to just xvid/divx. i actually seen the audio sync problem using vcd.

i tested using mplayer in windows and the sync seems to be working fine.

thanks,

actually, i believe it is just divx/xvid.. what i thought was vcd was just poor xvid Smile

i believe vcd/svcd works fine.
