I used to use XBMC on Windows 7 to connect to my MythTv backend running live TV without problems. Post upgrade to Windows 8.1 and Kodi 14.2 I cannot get live working.I have tried to use pvr.mythtv add-on version 12.26 which loads OK but I get no live TV functionality. I next tried to use MythTv cmyth PVR v1.9.16 which allows me to set additional connection attributes like the mythconverg db password not exposed by the pvr.mythtv addon however I get the error Add-on could not be loaded , please check the log file.

My question is where is the log file stored so I can examine it?
Why is an identical configuration using MythTv cmyth 1.9.16 working on my laptop running Window 10 preview?

I cannot see any difference in the settings except Windows 8.1 machine never connects.

What can I do to troubleshot?

You should be aware that the latest addon for kodi (pvr.mythtv) only supports mythtv 0.26 and later.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will check the WiKi and I am using Mythtv 0.27 so that should not be the issue. Anyway the same client is working to the same backend on Windows 10 so it can't be anything to do with the backend MythTv version.

The cmyth version 1.9.16 run only with xbmc 13 (gotham). You cannot use it with kodi 14 (helix). To solve your issue you have to uninstall cmyth addon and ithen install the new addon 1.12. If you haven't live tv , probably the option was disabled in setting screen of the addon.

It reports "ERROR: PVR - Add-on 'MythTV cmyth PVR Client' is using an incompatible API version. XBMC minimum API version = '1.9.2', add-on API version '1.9.0'.

I tested Kodi 14.2 on my Ubuntu 15.04 box and it also will not connect to my MythTv back end either but showing no error.

The unusual thing is that in Ubuntu using the same client that works on the Windows 10 laptop (MythTv CMYTH v 1.9.16) I do not get the option of providing the back end dB name mythconverg or provide the special dB password like I can with the Windows version.

In ubuntu I get no errors and everything looks like the Live TV is enabled however you get no Live Tv munu option so have no way of starting live TV. Like with Windows previous version of XBMC used to work fine with Ubuntu 10.04 & 12.04 but I nover got the Kodi client to work.

Thanks for your assistance. I can advise with Win 10 preview the cmyth version 1.9.16 is work perfectly with Kodi 14.02.

Where can I find the 1.12 add-on you are pointing me to?

Sorry, I need to advise a correction.

The Ubuntu mythtv client I am using is NOT the same as Windows 10. On ubuntu I am using MythTv PVR client 1.12.6 - Christian Fetzar but does not provide me with any Live TV functionality.

Hello

I have posted my log file several weeks ago and received no assistance.

I have since upgraded to Windows 10 but still Kodi 15.1 using the mythtv client 2.5.0 will not run Live TV with no error showing. I just do not have the live Tv option available even though the mythtv client is enabled. What do I have to do to get this to work?

Have you enable LiveTV in menu SYSTEM->Parameters->TV->General ?

Could you post the kodi.log file ?

Here, at section "7 Getting latest version from author", you will find the link to download the latest addon version for Helix (kodi 14) or Isengard (kodi 15).

Yes of course I have enabled LiveTV in menu SYSTEM->Parameters->TV->General ?
I posted a log file above but now it appear to have expired. I'm not familiar with post log file indirectly as required on this site and is awkward for those not familiar with the process.

I have the same problem on both my Ubuntu 15.04 boxes but none with Ubuntu 11.04 or with Windows 7 using MythTv cmyth.and XBMC 13

OK on your advise I have downloaded the MythTv 2.6,1 client and it is enabled and I have no live TV, no error message and no idea how to troubleshoot!

My laptop is working fine with windows 10 XBMC 13.2 and using MythTv CMYTH client so how can I install this configuration on my desktop machine as it is apparent I cannot use the latest client?

The addon 2.6.1 works only with Kodi Isengard (15.0). To work you have to install Kodi Isengard , the latest stable for today.

1 - Each version of kodi (xbmc) can run only a dedicated version of the addon because API changes between each kodi (xbmc) version.
2 - So If you want keep xbmc Gotham you have to install addon version 1.9.22 which works with Gotham only. But now i don't provide a windows binary for gotham. You have to compile it yourself using Visual Studio 2013.
