Does anyone know if hybrid hevc is now enabled for broadwell?

Hybrid HEVC decoding for Broadwell (and Haswell) is only available under Windows, unless Intel decides to add it to their Linux drivers, which is highly unlikely.

Who can we torture over a Intel about adding it? Shame we get left out (even though fair warning was stated). Was Braswell preferred simply because it has full decoding? Still don't understand the logic behind not providing a way to display 4k60 from the Braswell NUC.

using the openelec jarvis build:

1. harsh click noise when watching dvd when it switches to the next .vob
2. nuc does not poweroff anymore with IR

i also noticed that some remote key changed
(i have custom key and one for example switch from 49 to 24 keyid)

try with keyremote app to reconfigure switch off

ps:this is a jarvis bug not related with fritsch vaapi driver

I think this is reason why Xbmc FernetMenta working better than OpenElec build.

PPA version FFmpeg 2.8

OpenElec version FFmpeg 2.6.4

No log, no issue.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Wrong ... OpenELEC Jarvis build is build with ffmpeg 2.8.x basically the absolutely same version of fernet's branch that I packaged for it.

Edit: FFmpeg 2.6.4 has no hevc support at all ... so that is 100% not the issue.

Ok. My fault. I check official OpenElec version.

OpenElec version is very strange.

Hevc 4k 30fps, 50fps, 60fps files have drop and skips in statistics but visual is very smooth.

Hevc 4k 24fps. Visual drops. Every time in this same places. http://www.libde265.org/downloads-videos/ Sintel and Tears.

Why 30,50,60fps files playing better than 24fps??.

Reply
Cause the sintel / Tears files are 4096 ... the others are 3840?

Yes.

But on Windows this 4096 24 fps files is playing ok. 50 and 60 fps files on Windows is playing like shit.

Cool - then you already found your Operating System of choice. No Debug Log no issue - learn that please, the rest is just wasting my time.

If you are not able to install the ppa but want to help testing:
Please use the Jarvis OpenELEC builds directly of fernetmenta's master

Update-tar: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5572...33c484.tar

Is the only different between this two builds only that fernetmenta's build uses "Jarvis"
