serious control bug in (XBMC) CVS 2003-11-29
#1
reproduce:
enter "movies" ,
now the dpad that is normally used to navigate in menu, is only toggling between icon and list mode. (all 4 directions works as toggle)

...so navigation is impossible, unless user have a remote, which works just fine.

-cannot believe this bug got released Smile

thnx for the xbmc

it didn't get released, it's still cvs only which is unreleased/unstable. what you have is a snapshot of work in progress.

does it only happen in the video menu?

does it happen in all skins?

please check the skin .xml files (for videos) as well as your keymap.xml file.

i certainly don't have the problem you are referring to.

neither do i, are you sure you wiped all of the previous version's files? the dpad should never toggle the view mode, you should only navigate to the button with it and press a to toggle.

same thing happenning to me.

i deleted all the old version files and deleted the udata/tdata 0face008 directories.

xbmc starts up and if i move the dpad in any direction it selects the currently highlighted menu item and after that there is no way to get back to the main menu.

this build is completely unusable on my box.

interesting , some people do not have that problem...
-i am using the "hifi" skin - will let you know if the problem disappears with other skin
-i did not delete 0face008 dirs, because they no lenger are needed to be deleted (previous cvs say so, and this version's txt)
-i deleted all other xbmc files except the xboxmediacenter.xml

hmm i compile myself and delete/re-install every file, i too have this problem. navigating out of the movie menu using the remote results in this behaviour in each menu with the controller afterwards.

just tested with the cvs build and yep problem exists regrdless of the skin used.

maybe it's related to unix or dos formatting of the xml files? this build was the first one to have the xml files run through unix2dos before release, for easier editing with notepad... maybe some ftp clients messed it up while uploading to the xbox somehow? xbmc should be able to read both 0d and 0d 0a linefeeds as far as i know?

use the controller on the 1st port. i can confirm this problem when it's plugged in to any other port. will be fixed soon.
