T-mobile blocking kodi?
#1
Loaded kodi on my galaxy s6 but couldn't get anything to load. Tried adding some repos, after that failed I tried loading add-ons directly from zip files on my phone. When I got to my home wifi it instantly updated everything and loaded the repos. Now I'm back on the mobile network and it's down again. Pretty sure it's the tmobile network blocking but I figured someone on here that knows more could take a look. Maybe there's a workaround?

Free content (wiki)

Anything out had to load from other repos or external add-ons has nothing to do with what Kodi provides.

EDIT: My bad, seems to be a total network issue.

So trying to add sources in the file manager of kodi...has nothing to do with kodi? I'm not asking about addons. I'm asking why kodi itself isn't communicating with my wireless network. I guess I can erase everything and try to add a source and post that log file.

If you can stream a video using the official YouTube addon, then there isnt a problem with kodi. So try that please.

Also, the log is not a debug_log (wiki), so please enable debugging and upload that log of the failures for help

Cheers!

I tried to get the official youtube off of the kodi repository. I go to setting>addons>install from repository. I get this message.. Couldn't connect to network server.

i'm sure our Debug Log instructions don't include a step that tells you to remove the first half of the logfile ;-)

Meh. I would imagine it doesn't..it is extremely tedious copying and pasting all that text on a cell phone though Smile

yup, kodi can't connect to the internet.

go to 'settings > system info > network' and check the info displayed there.

Yea goes from busy to not connected. Check network settings. Mac address goes from busy to nothing. Any ideas on a fix?

Hmm, that's very weird. A long time ago on iOS, Kodi once had a problem where it failed a network check (which was only working for wifi and not for cellular), and it would act like this. That has since been corrected there, but maybe a similar issue is happening here?

settings > system > internet access

check if proxy server is disabled.

There it is. Thank you very much ronie. Proxy server was unchecked. I kept passing right over it because my settings level was still on standard. Changed to advanced went to internet and enabled proxy. Working perfectly

Actually, "enabled" is what should break it. If the setting is enabled but doesn't have anything filled out for the proxy server then the traffic doesn't go anywhere. o.O

Wow. You're right. I had just walked in my house and the wifi is why it was working. At work again and it's down. I disabled the proxy.
