mce remote with vista
#1
Hi,

I have been trying to get an mce remote working in vista (64) using the procedure for windows xp that is discribed in the tutorial.
I have however not gotten any results, not good, not bad, nothing.
After I have done all the steps nothing has changed.

That leaves me with working arrow buttons and a working center button but that is all that works.

Can anybody help get this working?

Thanks,
activ

I'm having the same issue. I have Vista Ultimate 64bit, and on Alpha 4 and Beta 1, only the arrow keys and the "ok" button work. So, I can navigate the GUI and play a file, but I can't Pause/FF/RW/Stop/Play once I'm in the video. I also can't go back in the GUI b/c the back button doesn't work either. Sad

I tried the live CD and it worked perfectly, every button was mapped correctly. Is there any way to copy the plugin from the livecd (or the mapping .xml file) to the windows/osx installations?

Like above, no buttons are working appart from arrow keys and "ok".
Haven't tested the live cd 'cause I have an mce keyboard and therefore cannot select a boot option.

If ehtray.exe is running, try stopping it and they try using the remote again. ehtray.exe is part of Vista Media Center and handles remote input if it is on.

You have to try X10-BMC.
This application let you use FF, REW, etc... & Automaticly kill ehtray.exe ;-)
