Widescreen signal loss - 29/11 build
#1
using seeking in a video file results in the loss of the widescreen signal. haven't wittnessed this in watching a whole movie yet, but when seeking through video files it occered in every instance. switching from video to menu and back brings back the widescreen signal though.
using pal 16:9, pal60 enabled

also, pressing select in a directory plays a file fine, though using skip or when the song is over and the next song should play results in no audio. the ui shows the file is playing, but there is just no sound.

please test whether popping up any of the on screen info bars (using start or y) brings the signal back.

also, does this happen if you press pause whilst watching a video (and then resume?)

thanks,
jonathan

hi,

ok tested it and no, bringing up any onscreen info does not bring back the widescreen signal.
also during normal playback of a video file the signal is lost, not just while skipping through a video as i first found out.

thx,

can you please test some older versions to see if this occurs?

reason is that the fullscreen video code didn't change between 11/26 and 11/29 for instance.

it is just the widescreen flag in the signal that is lost, right? xbmc is not switching to a different res (this would be apparent by pressing start which shows you what res xbmc is using for the video).

thanks,
jonathan

that's correct. i skipped the 23-11 build, but the 19-11 build did not have this problem. the problem started to occure when i moved from the 19-11 build to the 29-11 build.
and yes, it's just the widescreen signal that's lost. it is not changing to a different resolution as you mention correct.
my widescreen tv is standard set to automatic, meaning it scans if a broadcast is widescreen and ignores the blackbars when it recognizes a widescreen signal. however, if it does notice the black bars and there is no widescreen signal it will stretch the signal. that's how i started to notice this issue.
