emulators in windows
#1
Hello all,

I am an old XBMC user from the xbox days but haved moved to a media center pc and am now getting back into the xbmc since its moved to windows. My question is what is everyone using for a nintendo emulator. It doesnt seem to be pulling an exe file. and I have tried my old xbox emulator with the .xbe file and nothing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance
Kris

I know next to nothing about emulators, but you might want to check out the Launcher plugin, I think that will do what you're looking for.

There are not yet any built-in functions in XBMC for Linux/Mac/Windows to launch third-party applications or emulators, so right now the workaround is the python-based Launcher plugin that Jeroen have linked to, ...you could of course take it upon yourself to extend that plugin or create a new one that does support launching emulators and emulator ROMs directly, checkout:

and

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

The "Launcher" plugin does support emulators.
simply choose "File Launcher" from the "Add New Launcher" context command.

Go to CoolRom and you'll find plenty of emulators for plenty of systems. You can even get Roms from here as well.
