This was originally going to be "What keyboard do you use?" but why not expand it out a bit. Like others I looked into reviews about keyboards and remotes, but didn't really find anything too Kodi specific, so why not go to the horses mouth. Below is a guide to posting as to keep it informative for others and is by no means exhaustive as to what to post about.

Ooh this post is right in my alley, have tried 40+ remotes on Kodi and settled for one that has no cons and is fairly cheap.
Also using
Name: MCE remote (Philips SRM5100 style) on Stream Flirc module
Remote Device: remote
Media Device: Stream FC5
OS: Windows 10
Connection type: Infrared
Pros: Battery life, Best button layout of all remotes hands down, fits really well in the hand, cheap, availability, nice firm rubbery buttons with a good soft click, mce style remotes are the to go remotes for Kodi anyways
Cons: none, well not for me but it's IR and some people might not like it, also it's white but available in black as well (Lenovo and other OEMs)

Name: Rii mini i6 RF-version with mini usb dongle
Remote Device: mini-keyboard / Remote
Media Device: HTPC
OS: Windows
Connection type: Wireless version
Pros:
++ can learn the IR codes from original remotes (works with my LG TV)
++ more responsive touchpad compared to my old rii mini-keyboard
+ perfect size
+ backlit
Cons:
- problems with distance (? mini usb dongle), so I had to use usb extension. Now it works fine.
- sleep mode: can't wake up instantly, I need to make a long press or 1 extra click. Very annoying =(
- not good battery life compared to my old rii mini-keyboard.
- not reliable on/off switch
