Has anyone had an issue with nextup since kodi 16 was released? All 3 of my kodi devices are having an issue with it. Like the episode will be over the. 5min into the next episode after i manually select to start it will prompt, count down and sit there. Has happened ever since the update.

Hi - I'm having 2 problems when using the nextup notification.

First, I'm running Jarvis final on a Shield TV running 6.0, as well as using the Emby for Kodi addon. I have the addon set up to pop up after 30 seconds, and auto-play if no intervention, as well as apply to watched episodes as well.

I wanted to test to see how the addon would work, so I selected a preciously watched episode and skipped to about 40 seconds left. Predictably, with 30 seconds left, the next up notification popped up. However after the episode ends, and the countdown ends, the episode stops, and I get sent back to the episode listing and nothing happens.

When I was doing some testing to see if it would happen again, I selected the same watched episode, skipped to about 40 seconds left, and saw that the next up notification never popped up. I then went to the next episode (also previously watched), skipped to about 40 seconds left, and the next up notification popped up. I tried the same thing again (selecting the same episode, skipping to about 40 seconds left), and the next up notification didn't pop up again.

I restarted Kodi, and I was experiencing the same behavior. I enabled debugging, restarted, and got a log of both problems. The first episode that I play in the log (episode 2) is a previously watched episode where the next up doesn't pop up. While Episode 3 is a previously watched episode where the next up does pop up, however nothing happens after the episode ends.

I'm running Kodi on Windows, with Emby for Kodi addon. The NextUp notification is set for 20 seconds, and auto-play if no intervention for watched and unwatched shows.

Here is a log where I played an episode, the notification popped up, but playback did not continue after the 20 second countodown:

Is it just my system or do other people have the script the same way?

When the script starts the next episode of a show, and then I pretty much no matter at what time into the episode I stop the episode (even just a few seconds), in my Library I get even the episode that just got stopped (possibly a few seconds in), marked as Watched.

Thanks for the log, I cannot though work out what's going wrong there. There seems to be some errors to do with android which may be causing the strange behaviour your experiencing. I don't have android but will attempt to see if I can resolve the things mentioned in the log. By default the addon will not include watched episodes when seeing what's next to watch, there is a setting in the addon that allows you to include it though.

No I haven't seen this happen, the watched/resume status is handled by Kodi. Does it let you resume the episode or does it think you've watched it to the end. Strange one

Thank you! The issue was resolved when I changed Emby playback mode to direct paths instead of Add-on.

Hi I have been using this for a while now but a lot more addons seem to be moving towards trakt support instead of libraries

is there anyway to still use the Next UP Notifications or does anybody know of an alternative method od doing this

Trakt uses the library of Kodi.
Trakt just keeps track of what you've collected or watched.

Yes there is a pending change I hope to implement when time allows to get this addon to work better with Trakt. I do not use the Trakt addon though so it has not been a top priority I'm afraid. From what I understand Trakt sets the item as watched when the stop event is received, this addon bypasses that and starts a new episode before the end of the currently playing episode. Anyway, it is something on the todo list.

im still having trouble with nextup not showing correctly.. it still pops up almost half way into the next episode when i manually select the next one from the menu. or 5-10 minutes of it just sitting there. timing is set to 30sec before end of video in setting..

i have tried a fresh install on kodi. cleaning cache everything i can think of..

Version 1.0.16 has been sent to the kodi repo, thanks to @razzeee we have solved the problems with Trakt integration. A new version of the Trakt addon will be needed too which I think razzeee will be posting to the kodi repo soonish.
