Mod Arctic Zephyr: Generations (Jarvis / Leia) [3.4.70 / Coming Soon]
#91
@Guardian Hope

This is for Android users. I installed AZ:FA version 3.2.04 over version 3.2.03 and it did install what all dependencies meet. It does take quite awhile to finish install, but does work.

Also did a clean install with both required scripts installed first, then AZ:FA Version 3.2.04. Installed without a problem.

Both install were from the git hub site. Renaming taking out the word "master" from the zip.

I am running Kodi on Android Fire TV gen1.

Hi,

Does anyone know where the icons for "watched", "new" and "In Progress" reside? I've looked in all the usual places, bust I suspect Ashes takes different approach to displaying these for Movies and TV Shows than what Arctic Zephyr does.

Thanks!

Pete

I've been experiencing the same thing. Plus if I install from a zip file it doesn't seem to install correctly either.

Last time i was installing from zip file and it took 30min to install.

I haven't heard of "Dreamcatcher" but a simple Google and for verification purposes, Bing search led me to a repository that seems to be aimed at something which I will stand behind Team Kodi with. Please read https://kodi.tv/the-piracy-box-sellers-a...ling-kodi/. Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes will never include support for such addons and based on what I read about Dreamcatcher it falls into that category. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

For Everyone Else: Starting with the early-April 2016 Update to AZ:FA, two versions will be made available - the "dormer" build for Kodi 16 Jarvis and the "danvers" build for Kodi 17 Krypton for those brave enough to actually run such an early release. The idea is quite simple: by targeting the latest, all the changes that need to be implemented will be implemented for perfect working order on Kodi 16 and Kodi 17.

P.S. Yes, "Danvers" is a reference to CBS' Supergirl because the extent of my comic book knowledge are the Marvel movies and Supergirl.

Its all good i managed to add it. I'm really happy to know that you will made a danvers for Krypton, can't wait..

I have written "Auto-Completion" for the keyboard input in to the "DialogKeyboard.xml".
If you would like to use it for AZ:FA, here are the files needed.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5KfGJ-...cslist_api

Thanks, thatd be great, where do i need to copy the files?i mean which folder? Thanks.

@riccioluca

DialogKeyboard.xml goes in the "16X9" folder, the plug in for autocompletion should be loaded through your settings page. Select add-ons section, and select "install from zip file", then select were you put the plugin zip file. That's all that's needed.

Here's what I did:

1. Installed EMBY Repo BETA
2. Installed Skin Info Service Script
3. Installed IMDB 250 Script
4. Installed the latest version of this theme (the enterprise CDN version)

I've just one question where do I find the color selectorHuh

Thanks Guardian Hope for this awesome theme!!!

Happy to hear that AZ:FA is up and running on your nVidia Shield. I took a look at the specs for that device and for being "mobile" it appears to pack quite the horsepower.

To answer your question: Settings -> Skin Settings -> Colors.
To simply change between light or dark it's under Settings -> Appearance (Dark with Light Dialogs is what you see in every picture).
Wow thanks for the fast reply! Smile Just one last question. How can I change this color (please see the picture below) to e.g. blue?

Thanks! And keep up the good work Wink

OK, so I'm trying to make my first build using the Artic Zepher Braz skin. Until today I did not know there was different variations.
I was running into some problems like not being able to change the transparency of colors, and Names of Menu items not showing up in the main menu when there were showing up in the appearance tab.

From what I have gleaned there are multiple variations of this skin. I have read 90% of the thread on the Ashes version, and they are talking about the color picker and something in the Skinz shortcuts and Script helper zip file that need to be changed to give the option for the color picker.

My question is can I use that for fixing the Braz edition? What is different in these versions? Is one better then the other (I know this can be a matter of opinion) but your input can help.

Can anyone tell me why if I type in "Movies" in the appearance menu to show up on the main menu it shows there, but when going to the main menu "Movie" does not show?

Please help a Newb keep his sanity.[/i]

That is the Main Highlight Colour. Go to Skin Settings, then Colours, then Main Highlight Colour. Once selected, the Color Picker will appear, then choose what ever colour you like, among 4 palettes.

Ok I fixes my issue with installing. Ended up unzipping the files and manually placing them in the addons folder the started Kodi up again.

Something I noticed today that would be nice to fix I future versions. The duration time that appears at the bottom of the screen in the library view has a different font and weight to it then that used for the all the media tags (resolution, Audi format, codec, etc). Could you fix this so that it is close to the font used for those. I know size will vary, but maybe just adjust the weight of the text.

Honestly, I am not even sure as I have never touched the Braz edition. Although it appears to share a number of similarities in designs with From Ashes, From Ashes is about five months older having started out as Arctic Zephyr: Exploded. When Eunique was created, I was given the reins to help direct the development of AZ:E which is now better known as AZ:FA (or "From Ashes."). The scope of it has obviously changed - the original idea was just to make sure it stays running but now features are being added as people here as well as on the Emby forums request 'em which is a good thing.

I could say one thing or another about AZ:FA vs. AZ:Braz but since I never used one there's only one thing I can say definitively: AZ:FA has thought out integration with Emby and a long history of being a popular mod to the base Arctic Zephyr with two communities aiding in its development. On the other hand, AZ:Braz was designed more towards vanilla Kodi.

Developing a skin is not easy and I can tell you now that simply copy and pasting from one mod to another will not work. Otherwise we could all just do that. There are differences in the codebase for how each skin was done and those differences - if copied and pasted, will likely cause further problems. At least, that's been my experience.

It's very odd that it would not let you install the skin normally but now that you have it installed all updates should work correctly - hopefully.

Your suggestion is actually going to be implemented in 3.2.10. The problem was I couldn't zip the texture files up until a few days ago so a lot of the older icons have continued to be used. New ones will be introduced soon that should normalize the "look and feel." Also, unless something unprecedented comes up, 3.2.10 is the next release after 3.2.05 and is a fairly big update (it'll remove all the legacy code for the modern code). It is possible that 3.2.05 may include the start of these changes depending on how much longer the update takes which does bring me to my last point.

The Info Banner (Plot Overlay)

One of the staples of 3.2.05 is the "plot overlay" which in From Ashes term is the "Info Banner" (since VMS', DVRs, PVRs, and STBs all call it that). The Info Banner will display for 8 seconds at the start of a playback. The only problem? Having defined it where it needs to be (Home.xml) is actually causing the banner to glitch on playback and display a black spot for a second before disappearing. While I have enlisted the assistance of Eunique developer im85288, if anyone wants to try their hand at fixing the issue you may find the working Git at https://github.com/NortheBridge/skin.arc...ree/3.2.05 (just be sure to remove it from your Kodi once you are done; otherwise you won't get the 3.2.05 update when released!)

Guardian, thanks for your response. I know nothing about the exploded, Ashes, or Emby. I use this Braz ( I think it is Braz) on my Android box. It is from Skinz TV. Thought I would try my hand at making one for myself the way I want it to look. So much to learn.

Again thanks for taking the time to respond.

The last time that error message came up without any forewarning as it does in your case was due to a dependency that found its way back into the addon.xml file after it was removed because of bringing the last of the back-ports over.

I will attempt to recreate your problem on a Windows 7 VM albeit with a bit more than four CPU cores (more like 24) with a fresh install of Windows 7 but as others are able to install I am not sure of the likelihood of reproducing your problem but I will exhaust every avenue to see why it's coming up. I have a blacklist of old addons that I'll compare addon.xml to in order to ensure nothing made its way back in.

Just to verify (and I know this is repetitive) but you have Emby's Beta Repository (you don't need the server unless you want it) installed as well?

Appreciate your help with this. I did finally get the theme installed on a new PC Stick. Absolutely a fantastic skin. Thanks for all your hard work on this. Since I have your attention, I'd like to ask a few questions. The previous version of AZ I was able to add, for example... "Recently Added Movies" widget to the main menu selection for "Movies". So when Movies option was high lighted, it would display movies that I just added to my library and the fan art would display. I can't figure out how to do that with this latest version. I'm confused how how to add a widget for menu items.

I'd also like to remove some media flags and change some of the icons. Could you point me to the correct xml file. I have my view set to Big Icons if that makes a difference . I'd also like to edit the movie info screen, just not sure which xml file to edit.

And ... I would like to change the font size of the main menu text when it's high lighted.

I know it's a lot to ask, and I do apologize for hamming you with all these questions.

Any help would be great!

Thanks again ....
