I was running into some problems like not being able to change the transparency of colors, and Names of Menu items not showing up in the main menu when there were showing up in the appearance tab.
From what I have gleaned there are multiple variations of this skin. I have read 90% of the thread on the Ashes version, and they are talking about the color picker and something in the Skinz shortcuts and Script helper zip file that need to be changed to give the option for the color picker.
My question is can I use that for fixing the Braz edition? What is different in these versions? Is one better then the other (I know this can be a matter of opinion) but your input can help.
Can anyone tell me why if I type in "Movies" in the appearance menu to show up on the main menu it shows there, but when going to the main menu "Movie" does not show?
Please help a Newb keep his sanity.[/i]
Honestly, I am not even sure as I have never touched the Braz edition. Although it appears to share a number of similarities in designs with From Ashes, From Ashes is about five months older having started out as Arctic Zephyr: Exploded. When Eunique was created, I was given the reins to help direct the development of AZ:E which is now better known as AZ:FA (or "From Ashes."). The scope of it has obviously changed - the original idea was just to make sure it stays running but now features are being added as people here as well as on the Emby forums request 'em which is a good thing.
I could say one thing or another about AZ:FA vs. AZ:Braz but since I never used one there's only one thing I can say definitively: AZ:FA has thought out integration with Emby and a long history of being a popular mod to the base Arctic Zephyr with two communities aiding in its development. On the other hand, AZ:Braz was designed more towards vanilla Kodi.
Developing a skin is not easy and I can tell you now that simply copy and pasting from one mod to another will not work. Otherwise we could all just do that. There are differences in the codebase for how each skin was done and those differences - if copied and pasted, will likely cause further problems. At least, that's been my experience.

Something I noticed today that would be nice to fix I future versions. The duration time that appears at the bottom of the screen in the library view has a different font and weight to it then that used for the all the media tags (resolution, Audi format, codec, etc). Could you fix this so that it is close to the font used for those. I know size will vary, but maybe just adjust the weight of the text.
It's very odd that it would not let you install the skin normally but now that you have it installed all updates should work correctly - hopefully.
Your suggestion is actually going to be implemented in 3.2.10. The problem was I couldn't zip the texture files up until a few days ago so a lot of the older icons have continued to be used. New ones will be introduced soon that should normalize the "look and feel." Also, unless something unprecedented comes up, 3.2.10 is the next release after 3.2.05 and is a fairly big update (it'll remove all the legacy code for the modern code). It is possible that 3.2.05 may include the start of these changes depending on how much longer the update takes which does bring me to my last point.
The Info Banner (Plot Overlay)
One of the staples of 3.2.05 is the "plot overlay" which in
From Ashes term is the "Info Banner" (since VMS', DVRs, PVRs, and STBs all call it that). The Info Banner will display for 8 seconds at the start of a playback. The only problem? Having defined it where it needs to be (Home.xml) is actually causing the banner to glitch on playback and display a black spot for a second before disappearing. While I have enlisted the assistance of Eunique developer im85288, if anyone wants to try their hand at fixing the issue you may find the working Git at
https://github.com/NortheBridge/skin.arc...ree/3.2.05 (just be sure to remove it from your Kodi once you are done; otherwise you won't get the 3.2.05 update when released!)
