Fonts
From what I can tell, Helvetica Neue Extended is not an open source font and therefore cannot be included in the skin. And there's nothing about the existing font options that is "distorted."
Aligned widget behavior
My music widgets display their fanart. And musicvideos will too if there is fanart associated with them. No idea about pictures though, what widget are you using that displays pictures? Conditional weather fanart is already available. The weather widget display is completely changed in Mimic 5, so that the selected day is highlighted. Not going to try to add onclick actions to the weather widget though. If you want to see the details, just open the weather window.
Update: On second thought, I changed it in Mimic 5 so it opens the weather window when clicking on any of the days in the weather widget.
Icons
I assume you're talking about the weather icons here. There are several image resource packs you can install from the Kodi repo, including an Outline HD one that I created. The Kodi skinning engine doesn't support vector graphics, so you can use one of the existing packs or create your own.
Backgrounds
No plans for default backgrounds, there are already a lot of background options that users can setup for themselves.
Overlays
No plans to change the overlays. The main menu/submenu is completely changed in Mimic 5, so not going to add any features to Mimic 4 at this point.
The white textures in the actor list should only be displayed if you've chosen the white theme in Interface settings. The white theme is removed in Mimic 5.
I know. I will reset everything later to a barebone Kodi and then install Mimic 5. Most of the issue should still apply though.
Fonts
However, i think it should be easier to use custom fonts for every item not just one font in general.
Aligned widget behavior
For music videos i am using the default "Recent music videos" widget. Ok this seem to be a meta data add on problem then. It does not download poster and fan art by default it seems.
The picture widget im running is found in the "Pictures" folder - Picture Source - Use as widget.
Thanks for editing the weather widget

Which weather widget comes with conditional fanart?
My two cents is, that every widget should be displayed the same way with the same functionality = with fan art, items select-able and click-able.
These are pretty basic and obligatory out-of-the-box features that should come pre-configured and by default. Only if you are not happy with this, it will require use adjustments. The major disadvantage of Kodi is that it doesn't run as smoothly with any kind of content as you would expect and always requires a little tweaking. I am also aware that it is not your doing, but you might consider it in the dependencies and default configurations.
Icons
I am talking about ALL of them, even the stock Kodi icons. The issue that i have is that i have no clue where they are hidden. Not much of a skin issue though.
I figure it is the way Kodi re-scales the images. In the below picture i have inserted the gear one the left at 256 x 256 px 100% scale and it renders smoothly like it should. The size is more then sufficient for its use. Next to it the re-scaled version, one with and one without anti-aliasing.
Obviously Kodi doesn't support anti-aliasing for images. That's when normally vector graphics come into play.
It times of 4K TVs that's just disgraceful...

Backgrounds
I was referring to changing the backgrounds randomly after a user defined time has elapsed (kind of the windows desktop)
Thanks
