Mod Arctic Zephyr: Generations (Jarvis / Leia) [3.4.70 / Coming Soon]
lost everything on jarvis so i thought i would take the plunge on Krypton . been chewing on for hours , no way can i even get AZ to even load onto Krypton , tried zips from all 3 sites , have even extracted zips and pasted the folder in kodi addons , even removed "-master " , nothing will load onto krypton , ell the dependancies fail.
Am now going back to jarvis and starting again from scratch Sad , all good fun.

open the zip and look and the addon.xml file,it will list the dependencies required.
I know I had to do something similar (restored froma backed userdata folder after wiping chromebox and changing the partition sizes.)
Edit, these are the dependencies listed in the addon.xml

do i now have to download and start again with krypton ? or can i go into application support-kodi-and copy and all my folders then paste them in krypton ?
Not moaning at all here , whichever option you tell me i have to use is fine by me. thanks in advance.

On Kodi 16, you'll need to wait until the afternoon for the next update to be pushed out. It's pretty much ready; just needs to be packaged and uploaded. It should resolve the problems; it's the same version I'm running in that picture I took on an rPi3.

Alternatively, you can move upwards to Danvers which does require Kodi 17. Danvers and Dormer are not backwards compatible. Too many changes have occurred which means that unfortunately you can't take your Dormer customizations with you to Danvers (like skin color, etc.). And Danvers has a lot more customizations and settings than Dormer ever did so you can make your experience how you want it (minus the whole "beta" thing).
ty for replying , i have downloaded 17 and tried to install AZ repo from page I but it wont install from zipfile. Dont think there is anything else i need installed first to get it to load ? is there ?

In Kodi 17 you must enable the setting "Allow Unknown Sources." It's one of the pains of Kodi 17 and why a repository was created. It sounds like you are hitting the issue where "Allow Unknown Sources" which allow third party repositories to be used is not enabled.

At least, if I am understanding you correctly.

For Jarvis Users: The missing packages are currently being retrieved from our servers and will take 3-5 hours. They originate from 3.2.21 and were in the least accessed storage class so it takes time to retrieve the files. Once retrieved, 3.4.30 will be released to resolve the issues with Dormer.

For Danvers Users We're investigating issues with Beta 5. Remember, it was a big update, things were bound to go wrong.

The third party toggle is similar to android OS security. It will not allow you to install outside of the wall garden (default repositories or zips) unless you allow to do so.
And it has no bearing on his issue. If he doesn't toggle the unkown sources option,he wouldn't even have the option to install the zip he downloaded.
There seems to be a missing dependency listed inthe addon.xml that cannot be download via the repositories (default and the repo containing your skin) you might need to double check and upload to the server the addons required.

ok tx lads , i will have a look at the addon.xml i did see one that kept failing but cant remember which , as for "allow unknown sources " i had that enabled and had to keep re-enabling it after force closing kodi numerous times, I will stick with jarvis for now, am still trying to work out how you set these1 - 10, widgets set up so i can use custom widgets rather than the default ones from the list.
tx again.
EDIT - widgets sorted .

I can barely understand his posts that are far removed from regular English sentences so I was 'throwing darts' to see what would stick. Honestly, some of these issues require log files while others do not. This one does.

I went through the dependency list and all of them are available in the Kodi Repository which is why everyone else can install it. Check yourself by visiting http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/krypton/ and adding the dependency (as it appears before version) to see for yourself.

Why he can't install it is just going to remain a mystery apparently but he's really the only report of being unable to install Beta 5. As to why, there could be many reasons.

Anyways, Dormer update coming in the next post.

Is there a way for me to "return to fullscreen" on dormer? I know you can do it on Danvers but was wondering if it was possible on dormer?

Same problem here, can't install beta 5. All dependencies have been updated and the install gets to 20% and fails.

Kodi Krypton beta 5 has a bug where you need to create a temp directory under userdata otherwise updates won't install - that I fixed prior.

I went through and checked each dependency listed above against my installs and they all seem to be there?

UPDATE- went back a page and yes I'm on windows Sad

I'm loving the beta 5. Running this on my nvidia shield Tv.

Thanks for all your work on this and continuing support. I made a suggestion for lyrics to be transparent.

I see you've made some efforts regarding this however would it be possible to reduce the size of the white background and or even allow to customise the colour/level of transparency?

Love the layout of the lyrics screen other than that.

The latest Dormer .30 release is working on Fire TV with SPMC, the on screen controls are back. However, I am still unable to remove the Dormer notice in Settings. Not a big deal just an extra click when starting the skin. Keep up the great work!

as per the link you provided
"script.skinshortcuts" version="1.0.8" not listed in the mirror. Is there a repo needed to be added for script.skinshortcuts to download upon installation of the skin?

Could you try installing this first before attempting to again install Beta 5?

Tried the 1.0.10 Beta anyway which updated fine. Updating skin to Beta 5 failed, which I'm pretty certain is more to do with Krypton Beta 5 issues on windows than the skin package itself.

I had an issue installing the previous version on libreelec nightly a few weeks ago.
Itwouldn't install, but after sending the backed up addon folder from an earlier build (the device had to be wiped due to something else entirely, internal hdd replacement) the skin installed fine.
