Here's another update to the Multi-Mod...a new Independence Day theme and images option for the Holiday Mod! The animated fireworks are ported from smitchell6879's Holiday Mod Addition for the Madnox Skin. Thanks for the great addition to the Holiday Mod smitchell6879!

You can see the fireworks in action along with a tutorial on TVTunes below.

I've also done some housecleaning to both downloads.

1) In SkinSettings.xml, I removed the scrollbar for the Holiday Mod and Star Wars Mod since it wasn't needed. I also added a scrollbar to the Menu Bar Selector.

2) Per Wanilton, I have reverted back to the default "English" language file instead of using "English US". You will need to copy the new language file and change back to the default "English" if you made the change to "English US". This should remove any confusion with which language to use.

3) I have created a new file named latts_includes.xml that contains all the code for the Holiday Mod and Star Wars Mod on screen images that was previously part of includes.xml. There is a new line at the top of includes.xml that calls for this new file. I created this file for the Krypton version of Multi-Mod, so I wanted to make that change here as well for uniformity.

4) I created new Textures.xbt files that now contain all the extra media content that the Multi-Mod needed to function. The only exception is the new fireworks animated gifs. They would not display correctly when they were compiled in the Textures file, so I had to leave them out. They are located in the media/holidays folder of both downloads.

The downloads from the original post have been updated.

If you have already installed this mod for MQ 7 or MQ 7 Spin, the only files that I made changes to today are the following...

In 1080i
Home.xml
includes.xml
IncludesVariables.xml
latts_includes.xml (NEW)
SkinSettings.xml

In media
holidays (independence_day folder added)
Textures.xbt

In resource.images.skinthemes.aeonmq/resources
independence_day (new folder with theme images)

If you overwrite your existing files with these, and copy the new content, you will have all the new code and images.

Also, if you use the new Textures.xbt file, you can remove from media the folders custom, flags, starwars, and inside the holidays folder you will only need the new independence_day folder.

Well looks great and all. But no fireworks. I mean complaining about that is kind of petty but, I did a fresh install of Aeon MQ7. Copied the content over replacing all the info for the Aeon MQ7. I see the fireworks files.
skin.aeonmq7\media\holidays\independence_day

Thanks. Smile

latts9923 that background makes that look awesome. is that a gradient middle top... with some behind? it gives it some real depth in the pic.

You should be good to go if you copied the new files over. Is Independence Day turned on in the Holiday Settings?

Yeah, I thought that would be the perfect background for the Settings page. It's the gradient that's part of the top info panel of Settings.

Please latts can you advise again about resources.language file/folder change, if we want our skin on another language?

I know I have to select english (US) but lets say I want my skin in Portuguese (which already is) where and what do I need to change?

Hey djhifi,

I have reverted back to en_gb as the language file since that is the default language that KODI uses. If you are using "English US" as your language, you will need to change back to "English". If you want to use Portuguese as your language, you can copy all my code from the bottom of the strings.po file to the Portuguese file and you should be good to go.

Hi Latts,

I have the same issue and did exactly what you said but I'm still not seeing the fireworks. Am I missing anything?

Thanks

Thanks flowerpot! Yeah, I think the only thing missing from the US language file was one of the "Independence Day" messages.

If you have the new files copied you have the same code that I do.

I forgot to mention on the fireworks that there is a slight delay of about 10 seconds before the fireworks start showing on the screen once you activate them.

Yup, sure is. The other selectors work such as the Halloween and Christmas (snow) work as advertised. Just the silly independence one isn't showing the fireworks...

Not sure what could have been done wrong... Imma give it another install..

EDIT:

No such luck. I downloaded from your thread as well as downloaded from MQ's ... dumped MQ's data into my download folder. Dumped your data into MQ's folder (replacing everything in there and adding the extra)... WinSCP over to my Libreelec system (deleted old MQ folder) Reinstalled combined information. Reboot..
