1208 is my first attempt at xbmc coming from xbmp.

under xbmp i have had no problem with smb to a win xp pro box but i believe i am getting access denied under xbmc.

here's the entry under xbmc:
<path>smb://xbox:xbox@home/rat/pictures</path>

here's the entry under xbmp:
<url>smb://xbox:xbox@home/rat/pictures</url>

looking at the packet trace (little that i can) it shows that they are communicating but ultimately fail with "access denied".

could this be a problem with some of the hotfix that i have installed?

i got another pc to work fine with smb and xbmc.

looks like the difference between the two machines are hotfix 824146 and hot822603.

my bet is that 824146 is the cause.

anyone else has 824146 installed and got xbmc to work?

well, removal for of the two patch did nothing.

i'm stuck. i guess i'll use xbmc for movies only and use xbmp for music and pictures.

any ideas out there?
